MANIT Bhopal- A BTech Scholar's Review

The college has a lush green campus of 650 acres. The college stands tall on a mountain surrounded by rivers we have boundary walls surrounding the college that protect the students and other communities from bad elements. There is every kind of facility in the college, from gymnasiums to cricket ground, football ground, volleyball and basketball court. There is an indoor badminton court along with kabaddi, chess, yoga, gym, showers, and a lot more activities are there in the gymnasiums. there is also a 3 KM jogging track which encircles a small pond also known as MANIT lake. We have separate buildings for each department and some of them are very new. the labs are fully furnished and one of the best electrical engineering labs in the country is in MANIT. The administration is good and cares about well being of students. provision of the personal vehicle inside the campus is there. many shops are there on the campus and we have 11 hostels for students residing on the campus each with canteens.

MANIT has one of the best Electrical engineering labs in the country. The teachers are all very qualified with dozens of research papers published in many international journals. Each class is a batch of around 120 students. And we have more than 2 dozens faculty and assistant faculty, along with phd scholars who teach us and cover our doubts. They are always helpful in any sort of queries and provide a helping hand in research writing etc. They also conduct various workshops for teaching about new technologies which are not included in the course. Teaching in the college is mostly practical based but a lot of importance is given to understanding the concepts. A 4-month long semester includes a mini-test, mid sem exam, practical exam, and ends sem exam. Along with assignments and project work. By regular studies and focusing in classes, students can score well in exams. Exams are not very hard but question papers really make you think a lot.

BHEL, NPCIL, and many more corporations provide internships to deserving candidates on the basis of interview and academic performance. Many companies like Flipkart, Amazon recruit interns for coding-based jobs. Students can apply for core technical internships also. Usually, Students in 3rd and 4th go for 3-6 months of internships. They may also be counted as their major/minor project work, and sometimes after graduation students continue on the same job at a higher position. Overall the internship opportunities are good and the faculties are highly supportive.

Students can get placement from 6th semester onwards. every year at least 200 offers are made in a batch of 130-140 students. Companies like Microsoft, Adobe, Accenture, Bridgestone, l&t, and many others visit the college to recruit students for the CSE branch, more than 95% of students get placed for EE around 80% of students get placed. Some students, like me, give GATE or GRE exams to prepare for further studies like MTech or MS from a foreign country. The faculties provide great support for students interested in further studies. The placement scenario is good. But it depends on the qualities of the individual students also. Packages as high as 63 lakhs are given by Microsoft, but years of dedication and hardwork is also required for it.

A fee hike is not a regular thing. Around 2-3 percent hike in tuition fee occurs every 2-3 years. For general students with an annual income of more than 5 lacs, they have to pay a fee of approx 2 lacs per annum(including hostel fee, mess fee, campus charge, tuition fee, travel fee, library's fee, etc). Many provisions are there for students with a poor background like Merit Scholarship and SCST scholarship where students gave 100% fee wave along with 5000 rs monthly scholarship. Every year, hundreds of companies arrive at the campus to provide job offers to deserving candidates. Salaries are given in lacs. The college has an amazing training and placement cell which develops the all-around skills of the students like vocational training, work management, presentation skills, knowledge increment, and work ethics, etc. They prepare the student to be future leaders wherever they choose to go.

Every year, two grand gests are arranged in the college, Maffick, the cultural fest of MANIT, and Technosearch, the technical event of the college. Celebrity singers and artists often perform in the fests. They are also a good opportunity for students to show and hone their skills like dancing, singing, beatboxing, photography, and art, as students also participate in the fest. Many cultural activities and technical workshops like robotics, coding, entrepreneurship and finance, professional writing workshops are also held, tournaments like Robififa, quizzes, literary writing, treasure hunt are also held. The environment is very fun and exciting. It allows students to release stress and also gives them a chance to bond. Sports competitions are also held on campus like basketball competitions, chess competitions, art, badminton, volleyball, cricket, etc. Inter NIT sports competitions are also held and every year students perform really well. Roobaroo, Pixel, Aroha, Zenith, Azad are society run.

Amazing hostels with big rooms and a bathroom. Electricity facilities are also available 24x7. Many activities are also held in hostels. All hostels have separate cafeterias and night canteens, the food cooked is healthy and features both north and south Indian cuisines, veg, and nonveg canteens are separated. Food quality is good. The hostel rooms are already packed with bed, almirahs, study table, light lamp, curtains, etc. Hostel registeration is an easy process and can be done in less than a few hours.
