My college experience

I take admission to this college because I wanted to pursue computer science engineering and placement for this college is more than 95%. Placement for other branches is not so good due to which students have to go for off-campus placement. For admission, they take a separate entrance exam which is held in April or May. Along with it, they declare their result within 1 month. They tell the rank of the student instead of marks to obtain by the student in the entrance exam. I preferred this college because the fees structure of this college was within the budget of my parents and along with it, this college is having maximum placement in computer science engineering.

I was interested in computer science engineering. There is around 65 to 70 student per teacher in a class in computer science engineering. This college is overcrowded for computer science engineering. All the faculty member of this college have done M.tech in their branch and they are having an average teaching method. In a semester they take 3 internal exams, 1 internal practical exam, 1 external practical exam and 1 external semester exam. Internal exams are easy to pass but external exams are little bit tuff.

In the 7th-semester BTech student become eligible for campus placement. For Placement students of SRM Modi Nagar go to SRM Chennai for placement. For computer Science engineering this college is having a very nice track record. Almost every student get placed in tech companies. Talking about other branches, student of other branches have to struggle for getting places because college does not bring many companies to college. The highest package in computer science engineering is around Rs 40 lakh per year and the minimum is around Rs 3 lakh per year.

After my admission, they had not increased tution fees but had increased hostel fees by Rs 500. They do not provide any Scholarship, Financial Assistance even to the faculty members. At admission, they said that toppers of every college will be given a 10% scholarship but did not give any.

Campus life is very much boring. They do not organise any type of annual fest. Talking about the technical fest, they only organise webinars , seminars about technology which is of merely 1 to 2 hours. They even do not provide certificates for that webinars.

They only provide a bed and a cupboard in the name of facilities. The room size is very less. They even don't provide continuous electricity. The speed of wifi is very slow and unstable. Sometimes speed becomes high but the maximum time wifi speed is very less. They also provide a laundry facility. Talking about mess the food they provide not so good. They use to change menu every month.

They did not take any type of Group Discussion, Interview or Written Test for the admission. The only entrance exam was taken for admission to this college. After the test, they declared the rank of the student they took admission of top 75000 student out of around 300000 students to their college and allot branches accroding to the wish of students.
