Remarks
Firstly This college is a very good college for engineering. I wanted to take admission in CSBS branch that is a new branch launched this year by TCS, and let me tell you OIST is the only college in MP with CSBS branch.Therefore I opted for this college in my counselling form.You can either take admission through counselling or directly by consulting with admission cell.If you are a medical student I will not recommend you this college as best but for an engineering graduate this comes into top 3 colleges in MP.
Course Curriculum Overview
Basically my course is CSBS i.e,Computer Science and Business System. This course relies on explanaing only the necessary subjects and topics,it does not include any subject of civil,mechanical or electrical branches. It focuses mainly on your coding skills and soft skills what we call as communication skills. Faculty who taught us were kinda good,this is a fact that you will never find the college faculty as good as school faculty but moreover the faculty in OIST is not that bad.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies arrive in college for intership as well as job opportunities like tcs ,Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini, Infosys etc . They provide you stipend according to the job role . For software developer intern tcs provide around 1.5-2 lakhs for 6 months.
Placement Experience
I am not yet placed in am just in second semester now. But i consulted many of my seniors and they said that plactment in OIST is 80 percent. The average package during last three to four years was 4.5-6 lakhs per annum. Highest package in 2019 went to 24 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Talking about the fees structure so in the current year (2021) the fees for BTech students is 96,000 per year plus theres an aditional charge of 8,000 in the first year for your dress and library fees. Students of OBC ,ST,and SC category gets scholarship too. They have to fill a form for scholarship and they can avail any scholarship provided in the portal which they fit into according to their marks and rank. OBC candidates get scholarship upto 27,000 per year and ST/SC candidates get scholarship upto 50,000 per year.
Campus Life
Campus of OIST is very posh. Its a vast campus covering 33 acres.College has its library, park, ground, canteen, mess, and hostel too. Hostel is not very comfy but ya its okay. Mess food is not good enough. There are clubs for sports and curricular activities, interested students can surely join clubs. Staff encourages them Theres a huge library with around one lakh+ books
Interview Experience
No there is not GD/PI for admission . You can either take direct admission or go for counselling . If you opt for counselling then your selection will be merit based according to your marks in 10 , 12 and your jee mains ranking and score.
