Remarks

BVRIT feels a lot like a little paradise in the outskirts of Hyderabad. As it is located very far away from the city it had some cons like healthcare, food etc. But In recent times those have been addressed by building a hospital on the campus etc. One of the main reasons to join the campus is its enchanting beauty and the lovely human beings you are surrounded by from caretakers to the faculty and management. Admission is usually done through TS EAMCET a state entrance test, and there are also few spot admission seats through which you can get a seat into this wonderful college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am a 3rd year undergraduate student pursuing Mechanical Engineering in BVRIT Narsapur. Our College is one of the very few colleges in Hyderabad which has an SAE club. You get to participate in automotive sports like go kart through this club, though I would say a well experienced faculty who can train us to win these competitions is missing. My love for the Manufacturing sector has led me to choose this course. Our college has really good labs and faculty to teach us the course well. A few of the equipment has not been working properly but I guess that would be taken care of for the coming years. We have about around 30 faculty for 360 students in our department. The faculties have a PhD or at least an MTech qualification in a particular specialization and the examinations are definitely not based on Rote learning, proper course outcomes are designed and the exams are conducted keeping different kinds of students in mind to check their conceptual clarity.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are okay, if you are an average student you would get an average package in a decent company. Surely your placements have a lot to do with your branch and CGPA's. Core jobs are very few, you have to be exceptional to get into those companies. Internships are not provided by the college, 1-2 opportunities may be provided. The highest package is around 15 LPA and the lowest is around 2 LPA. Around 75% of the students got placed this year and the college is trying to assess and place the remaining students as well. Placements start from around the 6th semester for circuit branches and for core or non circuit branches it starts from the 7th semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the R18 batch (ours) is 95000 and an additional 8500 miscellaneous fee. Students of backward castes and economically backward students in the general category get a scholarship so they have to pay around 30000 only and those students with ranks below 10000 in the TS EAMCET have an exemption of the total fee, they only have to pay the miscellaneous fee. Depending on case to case basis you can pay the fee in terms after getting permission from the Principal or Head of your respective department. There is a chance of a hike of the fee by around 10-20k for the upcoming batches.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a good amount of clubs on the campus catering to the interests of different kinds of students. These clubs are run by students assigned to a respective faculty coordinator. Few clubs are Enlightening lives - a college NGO, Coding club, Cultural club, Club Inquisitive - a club to develop good communication skills in the hostelers especially, Arts club, SAE club - a club for automotive sports etc. The myBVRIT blog is run by the students as well. Many important activities, events and college feasts both curricular and non curricular are mostly student led imbibing in us a leadership and teamwork culture. To name the fests we have Promeathene - a technical fest in December, Annual day, Hostel day in March and the most anticipated fest of BVRIT students, Zealotz at the end of March. We also have the traditional day in January around the Pongal festival. Other than these tests many events are conducted by the above mentioned clubs always keeping the campus active and involved

Hostel Facilities

4

We have two hostels for girls one for first years and the other for 2nd - 4th years Our hostel (i.e. 2nd to 4th years) consists of large rooms with attached washrooms and geyser for hot water, around 5-6 people in each room. For first years they have smaller rooms with around 3 members per room and common washrooms and geyser. Boys have around 4 hostels with 3-4 members per room and common washrooms. We have one common TV for each hostel and outing permission has to be taken by both girls and boys while going outside the college. The registration process is simple just while joining you need to opt for a hostel and pay the fee then contact the respective warden i.e.caretaker Mess food is pretty average, and sometimes when it becomes routine you either get used to it or get even more irritated by it. Depends on you!! Overall the hostel facility is good, preferable as you save your time of travelling to the college which takes at least 1 - 1 and half hour for most of the people.
