Manipal University Jaipur : Make the right decision for Yourself!

Muj focuses on the overall development of an individual. Apart from Academics a lot of activities take place which helps a student know about how the industry works and how to communicate with people better. The admission process began in September 2020 due to the pandemic situation. I gave the Manipal Entrance Test (Met) based on the rank you score, counselling is conducted and the seat is allotted as per your eligibility. The fees for BTech CS first year is 320000 not including hostel, mess and other facilities like gym available at the hostel. My reason for choosing this college was less strength as compared to other colleges and alumni feedback. The infrastructure of the university is World Class. Cons I have faced to date is the management is slow in taking actions. (maybe due to a lot of confusion because of the prevailing pandemic situation).

I chose Computer Science as it has a lot of scope in future and is on rising in the current situation. Student Teacher is 80:1 which I feel is not bad in a college. The faculty is very well qualified with some of the teachers even being IIT graduates . The faculty has a lot of experience and is skilled in guiding for future endeavours. Currently, I have studied only through the online mode and hence it is difficult to comment on the teaching process. Online learning takes place on the Microsoft Teams platform with the help of PowerPoint presentations. Exams are conducted timely in a scheduled manner. There is a Midterm exam and End term exam at the end of the semester, regular quizzes and assignments are also conducted. Based on all these things, GPA is calculated. One needs to study in a focused manner to pass the exams with good marks, however at the same time participate in extracurricular activities and enhance your skillset.

Internship opportunities are often given during the 3rd Year and the pay depends on the performance and/or skillset of the individual. The tasks depend on the domain one is applying for. Companies like HCL, Dell etc come for internship +Job offers which depend on the performance of the individual in the duration of the internship.

From the 3rd year onwards placements start in college. Many companies come for placements and choose a student based on their set criteria. Companies like, Dell, Accenture, Capgemini visit the campus and selection are made based on the skill sets of the student. Different companies have different criteria for selections which may include test and personal interview. One also needs to score a decent GPA to be eligible to sit for the placements with no backlogs.

The fees for 1st year is 3,20,000 for Btech Cse. Hostel fees currently are 55,000 and mess fees is 18,600. All the facilities like gym, swimming pool etc available at the hostel are additionally charged. Many scholarships are provided at MUJ to deserving students. There are a lot of categories including sports, single mother, academics, defence etc. I myself am a scholarship holder for the sports category. I am currently in the first year so it is quite difficult to comment about jobs but even during placements, 2020 many seniors from my college got a job at companies like Accenture, dell etc.

A lot of fests are organised at Muj. The annual fest is Onerios. Sports fest is called Abhivrata. Tech fests and Hackathons are organized regularly library is huge all types are books are available. An E-library option is also available. The classroom amenities are good. Smartboards are available in the classroom and practical labs are well equipped. Sports activities at MUJ are endless however teams of a few sports like the girl's cricket team doesn't exist to date. The end number of student clubs are their is MUJ and one can become a member of anyone which excites you but again with a fess of 100/200 depending on the club.

Rooms at MUj are of 3 types. Single Premium, Deluxe, and Double Occupancy. The price I have mentioned is for Double Occupancy. It contains an attached washroom, two study table s and chairs,2 single beds and on the side table. The meal quality is good, a lot of different items are available in the mess and apart from that 10+eateries where one can sit and eat at own cost. Mess fees are different from hostel fees. mess fees presently are 18,600. Students are intimated via mail about the registration process of the hostel and payments.

The entrance test for admission is called the Manipal entrance test. It was organized in September due to the pandemic. The exam pattern includes questions from physics, chemistry, maths and English. The details about the exam and exam pattern are shared with the student well in advance. I Believe that it is good that the entrance test is conducted so that fair selection can be made.
