Remarks
I chose IBS Gurgaon due to the fact that the campus is the closest to my hometown and the NCR region offers a wide variety of placement opportunities. The admission process is quite easy. You apply for the course with the entrance exam course and then you have a GDPI processing. It's like a three-stage admission process and it's held at the Hyderabad campus. I wasn't able to attend the admission process there so I sat in the second round of admission which was to be held at the respective campuses you're applying for. But due to the lockdown, the admission process was conducted online. One of the main reasons I went to this college was due to a family friend who passed out from the IBS Gurgaon campus and is doing well right now, plus I didn't score well in CAT and NMAT.
Course Curriculum Overview
The class size is approx 60 and the batch size is 600 approximately. The facilities are well educated and qualified and most of them teach excellent. The teachers are really good and give their best to the students to understand the concept. Exams were conducted online, due to the pandemic and we're conducted on schedule. The college runs on a schedule and does not think of what's happening outside. They don't let it bother them. The online mode of the exam was easy as we didn't have to switch on our video or microphone. But, it was important to remember that if you copy answers you won't get marks. The faculties are very particular about it. During the presentation and submission seasons, it gets quite hectic and also stressful. Plus connecting on group projects online and preparing it was a tiresome task but all of us made it through it. The teachers are helpful and most of them are understanding. There are various competitions, seminars and other activities conducted every now & then.
Internships Opportunities
The college offers a variety of Internship profiles. But most of them are unpaid. The profiles are from all types of specialisation according to your interests and the bring part of the internship cell I can say that we give our best to get the students placed in good Internships. There is a 100% Internship placement. Most of the companies offer a wonderful learning experience. Also, many Internship companies also offer PPO as well.
Placement Experience
The placements start in August of the 3rd semester that is after our SIPs ( Summer Internship Program). The placement goes on till the time everyone is placed. 100% placement of the students is carried out here. The average is around 7LPA with most of the companies offering 4-5LPA packages. The maximum last package for my seniors was 13-14 LPA. A lot of good companies such as E&Y, KPMG, Deloitte, Moody's, etc come to the college also n number of startups are also a part of the placement process.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has a fee structure of (1,44,000*5) + 10000 (security deposit). They take the complete course fees in 5 instalments and during the pandemic, they provided the students with the opportunity to pay the specific semester instalment in small instalments. There are additional charges as well such as Library, admission fees, etc. The college provides scholarship to students who have a good CGPA. There are different slots and amount specified. The slots are 9 CGPA+, 8 CGPA+ and 7 CGPA +. The college has also helped in financial aid if you need one but won't provide any concession on the fees. The college does not offer a good ROI.
Campus Life
My complete experience has been online so I might not be able to give a correct review. The college is conducting various activities, seminars competitions, etc all the time. This helps in engagement and profile enhancement. The books are provided by the college itself and are available in the library. For the online mode, they were posted to us. There are various cells and clubs (societies) in the college. I'm a part of the internship cell and it has been a great experience. I found the internship cell and placement cell the best. But there are other clubs under the student's council which are specific to your interest such as singing, dancing, photography, etc. The fests weren't conducted this year.
Interview Experience
There is a GDPI process that is held at the IBS Hyderabad campus. I wasn't able to attend that so I attended it at the campus. But due to the as the process had to be shifted online it wasn't possible to conduct a GD and thus only the PI was taken over the WhatsApp video call. Criteria were good speaking and presentation skills also basic qualifications and amplitude. The IBS counsellors help. You prepare for these processes.
