Less Internships oppurntunities

UIET is the engineering department of Panjab University, Chandigarh. It is situated inside the South Campus of Panjab University. Following are the reasons which I had in 2015, for joining UIET, PU PU's Decent World Ranking: Joined because of Panjab University. Panjab University is one of the oldest universities in India. In QS World Universities ranking, its rank was in 301-400 slab. Although, it has slipped by 2 slabs now. UIET Rankings: According to Outlook 2019, UIET is ranked 22nd in the country Average Package: Average Package of UIET is around 5.5lpa for CSE and IT Fess: Hostel fees are very less, the hostel fees is less than 10k, and the semester fees is also not that much, it's around 30-40k for a semester ROI: Average Package of 5.5 LPA, Semester fees 30 to 40k, Hostel fees: 5-6k per semester Huge Alumni base. Many notable people have graduated from PU The campus is situated in Chandigarh which is one of the most planned cities in India

PROS IT course curriculum is similar to CSE IT Professors are quite helpful and chill Attendance is not that much of an issue CONS Lack of Phd professors in IT department, while in CSE department all professors are PHd

EDC organizes an Intern Fair every year. Internships opportunities are few as compared to full-time. For finding internships students have to put efforts themselves One of the main reasons for fewer internship opportunities is that there is no option to do 6 months of internships before the 7th semester. You can only opt. for 2 months of internships/training during summer break

For IT/ CSE most of the students get placed and the average package is around 5.5 LPA. For other branches, the placement is not that great For IT/CSE, 70 percent of students get placed Major Companies : Delloite, ZS, Amazon, Jugnoo, KPMG, Infosys, Mu Sigma, Optum , Zscaler

From 2015 to 2019 the fees for odd seems was around 35k and for even sem it was around 40k Examination fees are 1500 which is paid every semester Hostel fees are very less, one can find the details from the official website of PU SCHOLARSHIPS: No fees for EWS, the Single child Various scholarships for SC/ST students in hostel fees and semester fees

The official tech-cultural fest of UIET is Goonj. It happens in the month of February. Since UIET is part of PU, various fests keep on happening around the campus throughout the year. PU campus is quite happening. The official cultural fest of PU is Jhankaar is happening in March. Also, PU has annual elections for the Student Council. It is also like a grand festival in the University. PU Elections happen in September. CLUBS in UIET: One can find various communities and clubs for Coding, Entrepreneur Development, Theatre, Literacy, Debating, Gaming, Automobiles, NGOs work, Rotaract, Sports, Photography Groups Classrooms are decent, AC in only a few classes Sports infrastructure is great in PU. Following infra is available: Astroturf Tennis, Hockey court, Basketball Court, Cricket field, Football field, Kho Kho Field, Boxing Ring, Shooting Range, Athletics, Badminton Court, Swimming Pool

The hostel is quite old, but they have beautiful architecture. Every hostel has lots of trees and greenery Sports facilities in the hostels: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton courts A decent gym with machines and treadmills. Although the equipment is quite old, they fulfill the purpose RO water Mess/Canteen High-speed PU wifi Common room with TV, ACs, and indoor games like carrom, chess, Jenga, etc.
