I chose this course because it was one among the best during those times. This is the best college in madurai and has good campus placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is extremely good with focus on research. There were electives like Engineering Graphics, Computer Networks, Network systems, Computer Graphics, Communication systems. Students could choose from a wide variety of options depending on their areas of interest.
Internships Opportunities
Thiagarajar College of Engineering does provide internship , however i am not aware of the general stipend. The overall experience at Thiagarajar College of Engineering is amazing.
Placement Experience
The campus placement at Thiagarajar College of Engineering is very good. 80% were placed during 2005. The name is enough. Companies like Honeywell, Helwett Packard, Tata consultancy services, Cognizant technology solutions, HCL, Verizon etc have come to campus. The package they offer is quite decent for freshers.
College Events
Technical events like Symposium - Intra college and intercollege, paper presentations, annual and cultural events like annual day, NCC da, hostsl day, farewall day, freshers party etc used to be celebrated at Thiagarajar College of Engineering. We also had industrial visits managed by the students for the students and the staff.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure at Thiagarajar College of Engineering is not very expensive. Though Thiagarajar College of Engineering is an autonomous college it is affiliated to Anna university. The merit seats costed only 6000/- per semester. The management seats were a little expensive though.
Campus Life
There were more boys than girls in departments like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture department. Student parties were decent and organized. there were never any racial discrimination. No poloitics or difference due to economic status.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities at the ladies and men's hostel at Thiagarajar College of Engineering were a near to home experience with good quality food, good bedding, lighting, table, study, 24 hrs internet facility. On festivals, we also used to have celebrations.
Alumni/Alumna
My experience with college seniors has been great because mainly of their friendly and helping nature, Though there used to small small misunderstanding we would always patch up as good friends.
Exam Structure
The exams and labs at Thiagarajar College of Engineering were never so hectic. Being an autonomous college, students had the opportunity to explore their areas of interest. It was really chilled out, we have flexible timings and the infrastructure at Thiagarajar College of Engineering is really awesome.
Faculty
The faculty of Thiagarajar College of Engineering are highly qualified and good experience. Most of them have done Ph.D. Their teaching skills are highly appreciable. They also encourage students to take seminars and conduct paper presentations. It is very encouraging to mingle with highly knowledgable staff.
