Entrance Preview
IIT JEE - I got into this and I chose IIT Madras as it is the one of the old IITs, and choosing civil Engineering Branch as just a chance. Main intention is to be in Old IITs to maximize my exposure.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are many courses that you can take up over there. Choos the courses which matches your passion. Be very careful while doing so, make sure you dont regret. You can choose management courses as your free electives too. IIT Madras courses are the hubs for opportunities.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, It does. It has summer fellowship programs. It gives around 20,000 as stipend per month. Great labs to work with.
Placement Experience
We get a lot of companies over there. But have to be very serious in the placement preparation process and don't get victimize and regret at later stages of life. Outside, you wont find any great opportunities as you see here. Make sure you hit it right.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Its very expensive now, but no problem you get a lot of loans and scholarship facilities. Fee structure: 150000 per semester(around) for B.Tech and Duals. No need to worry much you make much after you graduated and almost you can clear loans in 2 years.
Fees and Financial Aid
If your family income is less than 6 lakhs and your JEE rank is good enough, you get merit scholarship. Apart from these there are many category related scholarships. And at times if you are crack at the top of your batch you get prize money and stuff. A lot of internship opportunities and freelancing works be done.A lot of banks provide loans at less interest when you say you cracked IIT JEE.
Campus Life
I think I don't need to explain much about the IIT culture Just go there, and the Life starts there on. All these extracurricular, labs, sports, competitions such as robotics, debates are very much encouraged over there. You can see yourself get out of the comfort zone and trying out something new.
Hostel Facilities
Not that great! But you have lot of eateries over there. Don't get upset, the other things will compensate the lag that happens here you can try cooking small items in your room. The campus is at the center of city, so you can find a lot of eateries around.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes, the most knowledge that you get in the college life is from your seniors than from your faculty. Make good friends over there.
Exam Structure
You don't have to continue the same amount of seriousness as you do for JEE, but take the exams serious when you are at IIT Madras. Don't worry much about the marks. Make sure you do well and get satisfied at the end of the day. IF you are opting for higher studies better do couple of interesting projects and good CGPA at the end of the day.
Faculty
You don't need introduction for this. But IITs are run by students and famous for student activities, more than faculty over there. But if you wanna go for higher studies, every branch has awesome faculty, chhose the one with whom you can go for your dreams thereafter.
