Lavanya Dhruw's Review On Government Engineering College - [GEC], Raipur

- Admission process :- One has to write Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test(PET). And after getting the scorecard or the test results, one can fill in the college they want to go to in the state and also fill the branch they're interested in. There are blanks to fill in your desired colleges and subjects. Then, document verification takes place. - College is nice. Teachers are good and help with any doubts. Teaching is also nice. There's a library where students go and issue books which they can later return and also sit and study there in their free time or after college hours. - It is a government college, studies and teachings are good. And also since it is my native place I chose to go to this college. - It was nice living there and getting to know about my own hometown. Studying there and also exploring more about the place once I just knew. And now understanding the place, people around and being a little bit closer to your own culture.

- The course I chose was Electrical and Electronics. At first it was confusing which course to choose. In school too we studied little about circuits and electricity, it was quite interesting to study. And later before choosing this branch, looked a little bit into this course , as in what we'll be studying etc, found it interesting. That way ended up choosing this course. - Faculty is good, they teach nice. Faculty teaching here is very knowledgeable and helpful with any doubts u go. There is the circulation of feedback forms where students can rate the classes and can give any new suggestions on how to improve teaching. Students can also approach teachers with any problem.

- Placements occur in the final year of college, various companies visit colleges and conduct interviews. - Few of the companies that visited the campus are TCS, IBM, Doubtnut, Oracle, Pie Infocomm, etc.,

- With the beti padhao beti bacho government program going on, female students can study in government college for almost nil amount. Otherwise, also fee structure is also good and less. - There are few scholarship programs for students.

-Aavesh is the tech fest and Aayam is the annual fest conducted in the college. - Books are available in the library and students can go through them and issue them too. - All the classrooms in the college have air conditioners, whiteboards, and projectors as well. There are water coolers available on every floor, a canteen on the ground floor, a ground to play cricket/volleyball etc., a basketball court, an open gym, labs of all branches are also present. Presently there are two buildings, Administration block and Block C ( here classes take place). - In fests, various activities take place in between branches in college, of sports, Rangoli, etc., - There are various clubs in which students can join and do various work.
