Remarks
It is one of the top 10 colleges in Kolkata under Calcutta University offering Arts. The Campus life, the student cell, the societies, the career connect courses, the collectives, some other co curricular activities which takes place in our college and most of the faculty members plays an outstanding job. The only negative area about the college is the authority, they're very slow in responding. The library of the college is a big plus. Even during the Covid situation, the online classes are really very interactive and beneficial. All the faculty members are doing their best from every side they could do for us.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty of my college is well good enough to be said with good experience and knowledge in the particular subject matter. Some are even pursuing PHD. They're always ready to help us with our academics but the fact is they don't spoon feed us with notes, all we have to do is attend the classes properly and efficiently. My college follows CBCS Curriculum i.e. Choice Based Credit System where we're asked to choose 1 GE and 1 compulsory subject along with our Honors subject. The marking pattern which we have is been divided into 4 parts i.e. Theory:65, Term paper:15, Internals:10, Attendance:10. Our department conducts weekly CIA's, regular assignments, Semester exam's twice a year with 4 terminal paper's yearly. It's fun if you work well on it.
Internships Opportunities
Yes my college does provide some on campus internships in library which is stipend based where everyone is allowed to apply and some off campus internships as well which can only be applied by the BBA and Bcom. Students, as per my knowledge.
Placement Experience
I'm not not sure about the placement but I do remember during my admission I had to fill one form where I was been asked whether I'll opt for job or study further, it was kind of a placement registration. Though my college have a good placement cell where 35 to 40 companies visit including the likes of TCS, Ernst & Young, PWC, Deloitte, Oracle, Axis Bank, KPMG, Indigo to name a few. People like me with theoretical background have to work harder to get placed into such companies as this time it's about skills you possess not only the degree you carry.
Fees and Financial Aid
I feel the course which I'm pursuing should not to be so costly as it's totally theoretically based and nothing practical about it. The fee of my college is too expensive as compared to some other colleges under CU of my course if I say. As there are some middle class students who might face problems regarding the fee structure. But, they are some scholarship available for the students who only scores above 90% in best of the five subject in their 12th grade. For this you may need to consult to the administrative or the Dean of the college who is truly very helpful in every aspect.
Campus Life
I came to know The Campus life is the best in Kolkata town I need to say because my college organizes tons of functions where different celebrities are invited, It also conducts many fest and one of them is UMANG; the grand celebration among students where different colleges also takes part. We also have AON, Alumina meet, TEDx, different seminars and webinars with huge personalities. Though we don't have a huge sports ground. Basically, The Bhawanipur Education Society College is all about co curricular activities while maintaining good grads.
Hostel Facilities
Our college doesn't have any hostel so the students doesn't belong to the West Bengal had to opt for some girls PG's which is too expensive as it cost round 8000 to 16000, or you can go for some govt. Hostels (check the CU website) .
