Course curriculum at IITK AE (MTech) is extraordinary and exam structure is based on the continuous assessment of a student's performance throughout the semester. Each semester consists of a mid-sem and an end-sem exams with a maximum of 3 quizzes and maximum of 2 assignments. Grading is done based on the weightage of the above parts (differs from each professors). Also the grading is relative with jumping grades, that is, 10 - A,A*; 8 - B; 6 - C; 4 - D; Then only F grades

Placements and job opportunities are very good overall at IITK. But for my department AEROSPACE (MTech) only 11/45-ish got placed that too not all in core company. I would say it is relatively bad for my department. Internship opportunities are also average for my department but overall is good.

Antargni - inter college cultural event; Techkriti - to encourage interest and innovation in technology among students; Udgosh - annual inter-college sports meet; E-summit - by enterpreneurship cell of IITK; Vivekananda Youth Leadership Convention - -- all these are bational events

for MTECH programs fee structure is very much feasible. We pay on an average of around Rs.20000 per semester and Rs. 2500 for mess and Electricity per month. Apart from this stipend for MTech students is Rs. 12400 per month.

All MTech students at IITK who got admission through GATE are paid a sum of Rs. 12400 per month which is quite satisfactory for almost all students from different economic background. Mostly the students receiving this monthly stipend are not allowed/encouraged to apply for any other externals scholarships

All other facilities at IITK are just perfect and available to all students at necessary times.Some of the nation wide popular lab facilities include: National Wind Tunnel Facility, Advanced Centre for Material Science, a Bio-technology centre, the Advanced Centre for Electronic Systems, and the Samtel Centre for Display Technology, Centre for Mechatronics, Centre for Laser Technology, Computer centre and Super computing facility.

Hostel infrastructure are just excellent for the money we pay. Each hostel at IITK is governed by student body and so they are just perfect. TV room, shuttle court (open), canteen (apart from mess), reading room etc. are available in almost all hostels and are in good working conditions

The Institute has set up an office in New York with alumnus. The office aims to hunt for qualified and capable faculty abroad, facilitate internship opportunities in North American universities and be conduit for research tie ups with various US universities. The New York Office also tries to amass funds through the alumni based there. A system that invites students and faculty of foreign institutes to IIT Kanpur is also being formulated

I prepared for GATE AE 2018 exam for 6 months and secured 139 rank (4000+ candidates) with a score of 631/1000 in AE stream only. I applied to IITK for MTech aerospace program and was called for written test. I appeared for written test conducted by IITK and later got admission in the same institute.

Most of them are highly intellectual and self-motivated having passion to teaching. Some of them are more cool that they give grades based on only assignments and don't believe in exams. Some professors prefer open books/notes exams rather than closed notes.
