Remarks

Negative is that as a new institute there are lot of scope of improvement and positive part is because of new institute the student-faculty ratio is very less. You will get proper time and attention from your professors. Can avail New and latest technologies.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Courses are similar to any other colleges. But most focus given on projects and research. We have one mid Semester exam and one end semester exam. Along with that we have two quizzes. Mostly depends upon course and professor, one among quiz 2 or mid semester can be considered.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are very good, because it is an IIT, placement cell is very good with very good connections.Yes College will provide you atleast one internship in different companies and you can also do many projects with proffer in college itself. I got internship through placement and internship cell of our College. I did my internship in a Civil engineering consultancy company "AECOM" with stipend in Chennai.I also participated in college placements and got placed in construction company.

College Events

We have so many events throughout a year. Many of them are organised by our College clubs. Like Artists club, then music competition from music club etc. Our major event is techno-cultural fest "Tirutsava" which is completely organised by students and sponser. We also celebrated College Annual day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is similar to other IITs. After our batch suddenly there was a hike in fees in all IITs but loan and scholarships are also there to release the fees burden. You can refer to any IIT website for exact figures.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not available any scholarships but I know about one. If your family income is less than 5 lakhs then you are eligible to avail the scholarships in which you will get some fixed amount of money. If you are from reserved category then you are exempted from tution fees and only hostel and mess fees has to be paid. Which reduced the amount by half. And as I said if you have family income less than 5 lakhs then you are also eligible for other scholarships. It means whatever be the actual figures that doesn't matters because in actual what you will pay is much much lesser that the original fees.In my batch I noticed that almost every single person was availed some or other scholarships. This is only about the scholarships which is provided by MHRD ( Ministry of Human Resource Development). Apart from that their are other scholarships which is dependent upon state governments.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are very good, all equipments are new and of latest technology. Still few labs are lacking major equipments. But as for BTech students all the required things are available. About sports, there is a Sports complex which is the biggest building of campus and also bigger than many old IITs sports complex which accomodate 2 badminton courts, TT, Gym etc. There are 2 basketball courts and one loan tennis court. There is a stadium which can be used for all other outdoor games like Football, Cricket, practice nets, running etc.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes, hostels are the best part of our College. As it is a new College so infrastructure and other facilities are one of the best in our country. Our hostel are constructed with "GFRG" ( Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum) technology which is new in INDIA and it is very reliable and fastest constitution technology. Now as we shifted to our new campus so all the infrastructure facilities including mess and classroom are really very good.

Alumni/Alumna

As I belong to the first batch and because of new College, the alumni network is not very strong. But as an IIT there is no doubth about strength and quality of alumni network. It will improve by time.

Admission

I got admission through JEE( Joint Entrance Exam). I cleared 80 percentile mark in my higher secondary board and also cleared jee-main. After that I qualified for jee-advanced. After qualifying jee-advanced on the basis of my score in this exam I got seat in IIT-Tirupati Civil Engineering department.

Faculty

3.5

It has a perfect blend of young, energetic and experienced faculties. Because it is new institute and less strength of students hence here professors are easily approachable and you can get their maximum attention unlike old IITs.

Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)
Reviewed on Nov 2, 2024(Enrolled 2021)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chose mechanical (robotics). As they euipped with new equipment's of robotics I have inspired a lot and chose to go with this course. This course helps to understand the mechanical engineering an also robotics. It helps us to understand about the mechanism in hardware. It helps to understand about robot infrastructure and about drones. For this course if there is more depth in robotics subjects than it can better. The frequency and timing is good as they maintain a certain period of time gap between the exams and the difficulty level is also good. If studied for a week we can understand up to some level and have a chance to pass the exams.
