Sanjana Gautam's Review On Shiv Nadar University - [SNU], Greater Noida

The exam for Shiv Nadar University is called SNUSAT. It is an online exam. The marks are not revealed just your selection status is. My reason for joining was the inter-disciplinary nature and flexible approach in terms of curriculum.

The course curriculum is most interesting. And the policy of continuous evaluation is practised by means of quizzes, assignments and surprise tests apart from main exams. The credits are divided into VELS, REAL and IC. We are allowed to pursue minors as done abroad also. For example I m doing Computer Science Engineering while also studying Economics courses as my side subjects.

Yes our college does provide us with multiple internships. I personally am not qualified enough to comment regarding this since I have not done any internship. However from time to time we receive mails from our career development cell informing and asking us to apply for the internships that they have arranged for. So we had summer internships and also winter break internships.

Our first batch had 96 per cent Placement and mostly the rest of the students went abroad for higher education. Our second batch had 91 per cent Placement. Some of the companies that have come are Amazon, Dell, Cognizant etc. We have pre Placement preparations and Mock interviews before the beginning of actual Placement season.

It is an inter university sports- cultural- arts fest. It is entirely managed by the student community. Right from sponsorship, promotion to execution. We have an intra fest as well. It is just for the university students. Apart from that each club hosts its individual events during the semesters.

Almost 90 per cent of the students studying here have scholarship. This private university has state of art facilities and is philanthropic initiative. They are not here for profit. Most of the students pay less than what any other college would charge.

As mentioned by me earlier SNU is an philanthropic initiative and they offer three categories to its students. All accepted students are bound to receive some kind of scholarship. They would lose scholarship if they don't perform well. But 90 per cent of the students are here on scholarship right now.

We have amazing sports facilities. Each evening there are designated coaches and courts and equipments. We have a newly inaugurated indoor sports complex. We have almost all sports facilities. W even have national level players as students.

We have only two passed out batches. We do have a designated alumni network. However currently we are small in number and mostly keep in touch with each other by the means of our very own mailing circuit. The alumni is spread across the globe.

We are taught by an amazing and qualified faculty who are all research oriented. Most of our faculty is PhD qualified. They design their own curriculum for each course which is also very interesting. Our faculty puts in extra effort in knowing each student by the Teacher mentor programme . We sometimes assist the faculty in their research projects or do our own undergraduate research under them.
