Hafsa Masood's Review On Stanley College Of Engineering & Technology For Women (Autonomous), Hyderabad

I had to EAMCET exam to enter into engineering. But being an NRI, I had to get a management seat. Stanley college of engineering offers a variety of courses and my passion towards the growing technology made me opt for IT course.

The course structure is decided focussing on the requirements of that field. We are taught many programming languages. We are also asked to work on projects and do research and the faculty members are very supportive. A lot of workshops are also held to make us aware of the new technologies and development.

About five to six mid-sized IT, BPO or Tech-support companies recruit a few students from the CSE department of Stanley College of Engineering & Technology for Women (SCETW). The others have to manage themselves.

There are many events organised in our college. Firstly, we have fresher's day which is celebrated to welcome the juniors. Then, we have traditional fest and fest which brings a healthy competitive spirit among the students. We also celebrate and there are lot of workshops held which aims to help in the overall development of the students.

Students who belong to the categories of SC,ST whose annual parental income is Rs. Two Lakhs or below and BC, EBC, Disabled Welfare Students whose parental income is Rs. One lakh or below.

Extracurricular activities, sports and games are encouraged by the college. The college gives due publicity by announcing the events in all the classes and by putting up in the notice board. Security system is provided in our campus, so that students and women staff stay safe inside and outside of the college premises.

There are exams conducted after completing 1 or 2 units in each subject. Overall, we have three internal exams conducted by the college itself and one external exams conducted by the university. This helps in preparing the students well and does not pressurize them too much.

The Faculty members are very qualified and make the class environment very friendly.More than half the faculty members are senior with over 10 years of teaching experience. The remaining few also do well. The management is very co-operative and any complaints from the students regarding any teacher are seriously thought upon.
