Remarks

Pros- ROI seemed really good looking at the past placements. Cons- The pandemic has seen a drop in the number of decent packages offered, also the cut-off for CAT percentile has been lowered so peer learning has been affected consequently. Admission process- The college shortlists candidates from the applicants based on their CAT scores. You'll have to separately apply for Nirma though for consideration. The forms are out in mid to end January and the process commences from the end of February. The process has an extempore round plus the PI, so it is advisable to be aware of what's happening around you and the world. The reason to prefer this college over other similar colleges is the brand name. Nirma is an old college and I think in a better position to support students' career as compared to other comparable colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Operations Management, I chose this course as I see a lot of potential in this due to the pandemic. I did not choose it based on the institute as Marketing would be the first pick if you're coming to Nirma since it is famous for that. It is quite comprehensive, you'll need to be in your shoes throughout the year to excel. Faculties are good and helpful. Naturally, there are differences in how lenient and rigid a faculty can be but overall I can say I'm having a good experience till now. Passing term exams is not too difficult if you've done decently to good in the internal exams, assignment and quizzes. Otherwise, term-end exams can be tricky.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The institute provides students with internship programs and is willing to place 100% of the class for summer placements. The gross monthly stipend is Rs.15,000 but this year most internships were unpaid. JP Morgan Chase, EY, Publicis Group, Jio Creative Labs, RBI, Crisil, Infosys, Arvind Fashion Retail, Buhl Data, Safexpress, Ford, Big Basket, Amul, Apply Board, Outlook Group, and others were among the top summer recruiters.

Placement Experience

3

the placement season begins in September. Notable recruiters include Ericcson, Byju's, Dell, Schneider Electric, Explora Consulting, Usha International, Smytten, HDFC Bank, Indusind Bank, Tally Solutions, Dassault Systems, Adani Wilmar, Wipro, Neilson, Hyundai, Axis bank, among others. Infosys is a mass recruiter that comes with around 50 offers every year. Consulting, corporate planning, market analysis, and distribution are only a few of the job titles available. The most lucrative package offered was Rs.19 lacs, with the average package being about Rs. 9 lacs with the exception of those who choose FB&E, the program successfully places 100% of students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is around 13 lakhs for 2 years. A limited no. of people get a scholarship from the university in two categories- 1. Merit 2. Merit cum means. They pay 1 lakh to the eligible students. You get an internship with/without a stipend but it is hardly enough to compensate for the fee. Loans are easily available though.

Campus Life

5

The campus is student-centred, with 26 clubs and commissions in which students can participate. These clubs and committees range from domain-specific, such as Niche-Marketing, Finesse-Finance, Optimus-Operations, Imprintz-HR, to extracurricular, such as Sumantra-Literary, Chehre- Dramatics, Fiesta- Dance&Music, to administrative, such as Media&PR, Placement, Kaizen-Alumni Relations, and so on. Throughout the year, the institute hosts a variety of meetings, lectures, conventions, and workshops. The institute's annual fest is Perspective Richter- 10 and its annual conference is the Nirma International Conference on Management. Basketball, football, badminton, lawn tennis, cricket, volleyball, and other sports are all available at the institute. It also has a state-of-the-art Yoga studio and a gym. In the library, students have access to about 45,000 books and papers. The classroom is also state-of-the-art, with air conditioning, a projector, and WiFi.

Hostel Facilities

4

The institute's MBA and MBA HRM programs are both residential. H1 is the boys' hostel without AC. The rooms have been well designed for two people, with two fans, two beds, two desks, two tube lights, a bulb, two side drawers, a centre table, two seats, a mirror, and a balcony, as well as mattresses. Despite the lack of air conditioning, the rooms are well ventilated. The washrooms in H1 are plentiful and well-kept. The maintenance of the facility is prioritized, and the rooms and washrooms are washed on a regular basis. H2 is a girls' hostel that provides non-AC shared washrooms, AC shared washrooms and AC private washrooms. Shared washroom and air conditioning. H3 is an AC Boys' Hostel with a variety of options. H2 is a women's hostel that provides Non-AC Shared Washrooms, AC Shared Washrooms, and AC Attached Washrooms. H3 is an AC Boys' Hostel that allows you to choose between AC and non-AC rooms. Washrooms (Common and AC Attached) Food is okay, sometimes good.

Interview Experience

4.5

The cut-off for the 20-22 batch was the 80 percentile, and anybody who scored higher than that was invited to participate in the TD-PI round. The Theme Development and Personal Interview round, also known as TD-PI, was used to assess their imagination and listening abilities as part of the admissions process. Candidates were required to pick one of several chits and talk on the subject mentioned on the chit. The panel had five participants, four of whom were faculty and one of whom was an alumnus. The topic for me was "Recession". Following that, the interviewees asked me a series of questions about my experience and hypothetical situations.
