Remarks
Academics: I am pursuing a Marketing course and I am satisfied with the syllabus and faculties. Due to pandemics, just like every other college, IBS Mumbai made a transition to virtual classes. They have a separate dashboard that has pre and post videos, quiz and other assignments being regularly updated. This helps in maintaining and keeping a record of our assignments. A lot of resources are provided even during online lectures to make the experience better. The faculties have taken a practical approach to online lectures, and have designed the whole session to be interactive. Admission Process: They provide a PGPM course. Candidates have to clear the IBSAT entrance exam or have a valid NMAT/CAT/GMAT score. Final admission takes place on the basis of Group Discussions, PI, and past academic records. Placements: JPMC, Delloitte, Jio Creative Labs, ICICI, HDFC, Lodha, Shapoorji Pallonji, etc visits the college for Placements and Summer Internships.
Course Curriculum Overview
Faculty: The faculties are well educated and experienced in their respective domain. The faculty to student ratio is 1:60, each faculty has been doing extra activities like discussions, quizzes, etc when they teach virtually to make the session, interactive. Faculty members are helpful and are available to clear any query at any time. Examination: Regular assignments, presentations, and discussions are conducted during classroom hours. Mid-semester is conducted before the end of each semester. The tests, assignments are designed to make the learning experience fruitful and meaningful.
Internships Opportunities
The college provides on-campus internship opportunities with and without stipends. Companies like JPMC, Jio Creative Labs, TATA, Aditya Birla Capital, Future Generali Life Insurance, Outlook, Money Maxx, Philip Capital, Shapoorji Pallonji, GEP, etc offer roles in Marketing, Finance, Operations, and HR. The process is smooth with multiples to crack.
Placement Experience
Placements: The students are eligible after 3rd semester to sit for the placements. And first-year students are eligible to sit for Summer Internships after the 1st semester. Big companies like JPMC, Delloitte, Jio Creative Labs, ICICI, HDFC, etc visit the campus for placements and summer internships. It has a placement record of 95%. The highest Domestic package was 15 lacs and 50 lacs for International recruitment. The average package is 6.91 lacs for the class of 2020.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit Scholarship: Semester-wise merit scholarships are provided to deserving students. The fee structure is good and gives enough assistance to every student. This year's total fees for 2 years is 8 lac.
Campus Life
Fest: The annual fest of IBS Mumbai happens in the month of Dec-Jan and is known as KONFLUX. The other club activity starts right from the month of June and is conducted often. Even though I belong to the pandemic hit batch, I was able to participate and contribute to a lot of cultural activities. The only flaw is that our batch could not get the chance to experience the MBA campus life.
Interview Experience
The whole experience was smooth. I appeared for the NMAT examination and submitted my score at IBS. A separate counselor is assigned to each student for proper guidelines for every step of the admission process. Once the scores are submitted, you are notified of the GD process via mail and SMS. The GD process was again a seamless one. My GD-PI took place at the Hyderabad campus and took around 1 day to complete. The topics for the GD are recent news/current affairs. PI was again pretty easy and was all about my experience, strengths, and weaknesses.
