AKGEC is one of the finest college affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. The college constitutes all the basic facilities and features that are required to pursue a Bachelors degree in nay of the streams. The admission process is done through the State examination after which the branch is assigned on the basis of preference and the merit. The college is ranked best among all the other colleges affiliated to the State University and it includes all the desirable entities that a student needs in a college from well furnished classrooms to highly equipped labs. While selecting the college, the official website of the university shows the previous cutoffs which ranks AKGEC as the top three colleges of the State.

I choose Mechanical Engineering for my Bachelors because of my keen interest in Automobiles and the drive to understand how machines work.The faculty : student ratio in my college was 10:1.All the professors were well qualified and many of them had distinction from numerous IITs and NITs. The teaching methodology of the teachers were very basic and was generally related to the curriculum. However, any vehement doubts when asked, were usually clarified by them. In our college, he examinations were followed by Class tests, Sessional test 1, Sessional test 2, pre University exam, and University exam held for every semester. The schedule was very timely and the difficulty level was moderate and slightly difficult than the final term examination in order to prepare the students.

No, I havenot opted for any internship or placement as I have planned to study further for my Masters.

The students start getting placed from the seventh semester.The companies that visit on-campus includes Infosys, TCS, NTT, DLT Labs, Loria Group, Samsung, Byju's, and Extramarks.The Highest package was given by Extramarks for the profile of Business Development Associate with a CTC of 12LPA The Average package was given by Infosys and TCS for the profile of Systems Engineer and including a CTC of 3.8LPA.Percentage of students getting placed is around 80%.After getting my degree in B.Tech, I will pursue my Masters in Automotive Designing.

In AKGEC, we have more than 25 clubs and societes that works on the overall development of the student. There are societies for culture, drama, music, dance, technology, and every other genre a student can possibly want to pursue in his college life.The library in the college is well-furnished, air-conditioned, and constitutes more than 50,000 books and journals of every domain and class.The sports and extracurricular activities in the college are linked with the college, the state universities, as well as with many of the IITs and NITs where the students participate and represent the college.Team Footprints: The Arts & Cultural Society of AKGECEuphony: The society for MusicSPEED: Student Platform for Engineering, Excellence & Development.

The fee waiver scheme is available for the students who were meritorious in the UPSEE examination and a scholarship is also offered for the students belonging to minorities. The students can avail student loans from any of the authorized banks.

The campus infrastructure was minimalistic yet elegant. We were provided with all the facilities inside our campus from well-furnished classes to advance labs that caters for the overall development of the particular subject. The campus was a wi-fi free zone and we had to register with our student ids in order to register and access the internet. However, when it comes to sports, they are generally specific for the hostellers while the day scholars have to take a proper permission to access the sports facilities.

The facilities at the hostel rooms includes the basic infrastructure that are required by a student. It includes bedding, table, chair, and a wardrobe. Generally the accommodation is for three students in a room. However, you can pay an extra sum for a single room personally for yourself. The food was typically like any other hostel mess food, which included all the basic essentials but lacks taste. However, the ghee and the pickle you brought from your home can do wonders in improving the taste of food.The registration process for the hostel accommodation is simple and is generally managed by the college management itself. So, you just have to visit the accounts department for the same and everything will be managed there.
