For entrance in NLU's, one need to appear for Common Law Admission Test commonly known as CLAT. I appeared for the same in 2014 and got AIR 408 in the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum covers all aspects from basic legal things to procedural knowledge. Also we are provided 3 months off from college for getting practical knowledge. All the laws are covered in the 5 year course and students are given opportunity in 5th year to choose a specialized field of law.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, internship are provided by our college. A cell called Placement Co-Ordination Committee is constituted every year to represent the college. Every interested student is required to register with the same committee and internships are allotted on the basis of merit. Stipend depends on the firm or company in which the candidate is placed.
Placement Experience
All the top notch legal firms like Amarchand, Khetan, LKS, AZB &Partners, ICICI, etc. come for placements. Placements ranging from 8 lakhs to 19 lakhs are offered each year.
College Events
2 cultural events take place for which we have a committee called as Athena which manages the same. These are intra-college events. Being intra-collge they are small budget event as the main event is Sports Fest which is a pan India event and students form all universities across India come for this famous event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee for the institute is 2 lacs. p.a. which seems quite expensive being a government owned university. The said fees includes all types of expenditure like hostel, mess fee, sports complex and the like.
Hostel Facilities
For 1st year students Hostels are provided on twin-sharing basis and from 2nd year onward separate rooms are allotted. Hotsel's are clean and hygienic. Mess food is better than other available mess facilities.
Alumni/Alumna
We have alumni cell as well as meetings are held with alumni. We get lot of guidance from them and it also helps in recruitment.
Exam Structure
Being a trimester course, each day leaves you exhausted. Adding to these are co-curricular activities like moot court competition, debates, etc. which add to the burden. We have 3 semester every year and in every semester we have mid-terms and end-term exams.
