Remarks
A friend referred me to this college. The reviews online, the campus environment, and the academic rigor that the college is known for drove me to join the college. I had not applied anywhere else as I was certain that I would get into Christ and I did. The facilities for BSc students and quality of profs and teaching staff is also far superior than most private colleges in Bangalore.
Course Curriculum Overview
During the course one will feel the academic rigor and stress. But after leaving you realize that it all made sense. The exact subjects and its contents is clearly defined and makes it handy to study and keep track of portions especially during the exam. Attendance is easy to check and there are transparent processes to claim attendance in case of any issue. The library spans several floors and the campus is always buzzing with some activity or the other. There is plenty of places to eat and relax and study as well. Overall Christ University is easily one of the best places to do your UG from in Bangalore. All you need to do is accept that they are pushing you for a reason and trust yourself to find a way through the pressure. Allow Christ University to change you and it will for the better.
Internships Opportunities
There is a mandatory internship during the summer that needs to be done. College does help students that are unable to get a placement. But it is expected that you find an internship on your own. There are a couple of internships in campus that can be availed if unable to find anything better.
Placement Experience
Placements are offered. For BSc its quite less as its expected that students will do and MSc before thinking of a job. Bcom and BBA etc. have much better placement records with higher packages. During my time there were about 3 companies that came with an approx. package of 3.5 LPA.
College Events
There are a plethora of clubs to choose from depending on your interest. The campus is a huge 100 acre one. And there is always a dance competition, football match, or open mic around the corner. There are also theatre clubs, clubs that help you with your writing and reading. Library is huge. There are multiple cafeterias.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Completely transparent and easy to find out. Not too sure about stipends. I believe it is not available for UG Students. None of my classmates at that time had a stipend. But for students that are financially weaker there is some assistance provided by the college.
Hostel Facilities
I did not stay in a hostel as I live in Bangalore. However, the average cost of a PG (there are multiple very close to campus) varies from 10-20k depending on factors like room sharing, size etc. SG Palya and Tavarakere is filled with Christ students and the PG is affordable for the most part.
Admission
Written test and PI. The written test had a different topic depending on your batch and luck. I had gotten the topic 'My Hobbies'. But other batches got different ones. There is a single PI round where they check your technical knowledge but also your overall ability to speak and communicate. If there is a decent balance of both then the process wont be too difficult to clear.
