Remarks
My college is an NIT, institute of National importance, so it would benefit me in my career. I was to enroll in CS/IT stream and according to my JEE Mains rank(17723), this looked the best choice. The placement scenario in the college was also quite good compared to other colleges that I can get in this rank. I took help from Quora and other reviews to make my decision. The admission process was relatively easier because all IITs and NITs take admission through the same process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would say the course curriculum was a little outdated when I joined but it has changed now. The teaching method is not at par with other NITs. The exams were timely held and as it is an autonomous institution, the exams are not that hard.
Internships Opportunities
No, I didn't do any internship. Companies like Amazon, Arcesium, DE Shaw, Adobe, General Electric, Samsung, UHG visit our college for internship. The number of companies visiting are increasing gradually.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are good for CS/IT branches. For core branches some PSUs visit so everyone has the opportunity to secure good campus placements. Last year, highest placement was 33LPA and average lies around 8LPA.
College Events
Infrastructure is not good. Clubs and committees operate quite lively here. Annual fest Eclectika and Techfest Aavartan are organised with enthusiasm. Other clubs are dramatics, literary, sports, singing and much more.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee relaxation is given to students from weaker economic group.50% tuition fees off for annual income less than 5lakh100% tuition fees off for annual income less than 1 lakh. The hostel fees is also quite reasonable.
Hostel Facilities
Food is not quite good, but one can just bear with it. Rooms are shared with 3 students in a room. But the hostel is quite affordable, compared to other NITs. However, there are not adequate number of rooms so students have to look for PGs in nearby localities like Chaubey Colony, Samta Colony and DDU Colony
Admission
There was only one examination JEE-Mains, which included Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There were 90 questions to be solved in 3 hours. Some questions were easy, some were medium and a few were tough. I went to Kota for its preparation.
