Remarks

Sir MVIT is a very reputated college in banglore and many students sought to get admission in it. The admission is based on rank obtained in entrance exam namely Comedk and KCET, there are various seats available for management quota students. I considered various blogs like college duniya, Career 360 etc to check the college ranking and filled this college in for the councelling rounds.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Computer Science Engineering course as it was the one where my interest lies. But one can chose Information Science Engineering too as it has the same curriculum as Computer Science. The students to faculty ratio is about 1:20 and also the curriculum is very outdated just like every other state university. VTU is considered to be very cheap when the corrections are done for exams. Getting a good GPA like 8.0 or above is a luxury here. The exams will be held in Dec and June, which is a month late than the other universities. So if you think you can visit back home and meet other friends then you're mistaken.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I received an internship from Cognizant after I was selected in Campus placement. They offered a stipend of 12000 and in the internship we had to learn about the software development cycle. All the types of testing like unit testing and module testing etc were taught. An overview of agile development was given along with other components of software development.

Placement Experience

3.5

Sir MVIT has a good reputation in the terms of placements. Almost every year around 80% of students get placed in various companies. The highest package ranges from 12-14LPA with an average of 4LPA. Most students are placed in mass recruiters like Accenture, Cognizant and TCS but few reputated companies like Microfocus, Target, Tally etc also come here with higher package.

College Events

Campus life can be very boring and very interesting, it all depends on the student. One can have a college at the heart of the city and not enjoy it while other might have college at the outskirts of the city and still enjoy it to the fullest. It's better if you join a club in the start and then indulge in its activities so you won't have to think about how to spend your time. You'll already have friends to do some activities together.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The annual fees for students coming via Comedk is 3 times of those who come via KCET. While I paid 180000+ the students of KCET paid only around 60000. The state quota gives students opportunity to avail scholarship and most localites try to avail this opportunity.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostels are really good in terms of lodging. Wifi is available in the hostels and you won't have to worry about anything the concerns with the lodging. But the mess is just how other messes are. You might be able to digest the food if you have a good digestive system. But most students order food online or go to nearby dhabas and restaurants to get their daily nutrition. The only time you'll find yourself going to the mess is sometimes in the morning for breakfast or in evening for snacks.

Admission

There is no provision of Group Discussion or Personal Interview when joining a college under VTU when you come through entrance tests. Similar is the case of management students. The only criteria for admission is the merit. I came through Comedk and for that i had to do the similar prepration that one does for any entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage
