Remarks

I got admission through the Anna University Counselling programme. I choose this college because this was a pioneer in Biotechnology and had a good reputable faculty. I had asked my seniors for reviews and a few passed out students for the same. Which proved to be a good one in the list of colleges I was offered with.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Biotechnology is a multi disciplinary feild that include biology, medicine, industry and technology. This was an all rounder field that helped me get exposure to all the things that I needed for. More over this is a growing feild in India with a lot of prospects. The faculty at my study year were all experienced and were more intrested in the research feild which helped me to persue my own research structured study apart from the designated course. The teaching was both practical and theoretical. In terms of difficulty of the course I would give a solid seven on ten. This is not a light course that can be taken and requires dedication, self exploration and rigorous study. The faculty have always been there with me at every step. But that won't be enough as a student effort has to be made from one self to excel in the feild.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship is a mandatory part of the curriculum, I was encouraged to take up one every semester that led me to do a total of 7 Internships over the course of 4 years with a min of 15 days to a max of 8 months.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement and counselling are given to all the students who take the course during and study period and post the study period. They were supportive and friendly helping us through each step. Training and education were given to us in terms of placements to help us with getting the job. The highest salary package was got by my friend who secured about 55k per month. I opted out of the placement as I was preparing for my masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I came through counselling I was only charged with the gov decided fees. Scholar ships are provided to meritorious students by the college itself. In terms of opportunities, the faculty have facilitated me with all the required Internships and others that boosted my skills a d abilities. In terms of affordability, if a person chooses to enter through university counselling it would be much economic. The self-financing option is also available but would be a little more than the aided format.

Campus Life

3.5

Atleast one annual fest was conducted by the department. Students were always encouraged to participate in other events and fests outside the college. In terms of infrastructure and resources, it was basic and all the requirements for the course could be met on the campus itself. In terms of advanced requirements like molecular imaging or others had to be done from central facilities outside the campus. In terms of extra curriculum, there were ample opportunities and training that was always provided. We were also encouraged to open new clubs as and when required.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
