Being a private institution, The curriculum of NIE is not hard as compared to other colleges and NIE gives you more free time. The campus is on 18 acres. Don't keep many expectations from the campus. It's not large and there's not much campus life.
Course Curriculum Overview
1. Some of the faculties are really well educated and they teach you very well. But after all, you'll have to study on your own be it any college. 2. Many of them are Ph.D. from IITs. 3. The exams are easy to pass if you study a bit, even if you prepare a week before, you need not worry. There is no difference in the placements of the CS and IS departments.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, The college provides internship opportunities to the students in 3rd year on campus. You can also go for off-campus internships taking permission from the college. Deshik-Labs is a good company to choose for an internship.
Placement Experience
The placement of NIE is really good honestly. Average: 7-8 LPA. Highest (in-campus) : 29.4 LPA given to 17 students of CS/IS by Cisco. Highest (off-campus): 46 LPA given by Microsoft to 1 student. Many students got 12-16 LPA from JP- Morgan and other companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee for Comedk : Rs.2,32,550/year. It's costly but equal to the other privates of Karnataka. Fee for KCET : Rs. 19090/year (for AIDED) and Rs. 54090/year (for UNAIDED). You get paid internship in the 3rd year from the college. Deshik-Labs is a good option for internship.
Campus Life
The campus is on 18 acres.Don't expect much from the campus. The campus life is okayish but not amazing. But there is a nice sports complex inside the campus in which you can play Badminton, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Chess, Softball, Table tennis, Carrom.
Interview Experience
Entrance exams :- KCET (for Karnataka students). ComedK (for non-karnataka students) and you get also get into the college through Management Quota for everyone. Contact the college only for Management Quota fees, don't fall for any agent or someone else.
