*Honest review of NIE

I m in ISE 1st yr 2nd sem in NIE The only good thing about this college is placements for ISE and CSE that u will often hear abouRest pls don't make expectations from campus it's horrible. This place is specifically a nightmare for North Indians. Only The new building for EE and ECE is good but for the rest the classrooms r horrible. Talking about sports there is a basketball court and a common field for cricket and football. Only diamond jubilee is good in which u can play badminton and tt. I didn't get a hostel so I took udipi pg which I won't recommend at all. The food is not good for North Indians in a hostel and especially not in udipi pg. Udipi is also very expensive I would prefer either hostel or any other room or flat without food because there r 2 North Indian mess nearby which r decent Talking about placements what seniors told me that all college wants is 100% placements. They just give u two offers and don't let u sit further. Attendance is strict 75% for all except CSE students

There r 60 students in a class and professors r generally not good except few. Good thing is exams r pretty easy and u can score well after just studying a day before the exam but there r exceptional subjects like CAED in the first yr. It is the only haunting nightmare of every student. Pls, study CAED from youtube. There r two internals taken before final exams. Pls try to score well in internals because it has more weightage in final scores.

Placements r good for CSE and ISE and all college cares about is 100% placements whether u r getting 2L or 14L. College just gives u 2 offers and after that, it doesn't let u sit in placements further. The placement cell is also not good like earlier Goldman Sachs used to come to College for placements but it doesn't come anymore just because of college. This all is told by my seniors and they also said that the placements in college because of all this is going on a downward curve.

Fess is pretty high for Comedk students it's almost 2.5L for yr and after that, u have to spend extra for hostel or pg and food and others. Hostel fees are also high around 80k for the year that too for triple sharing and also food is not good. there r no scholarships as such.

Fest r not worth attending There r few clubs out of which IEEE and DSC r best for programmers and ONYX for entrepreneurship. There r also some good clubs for Mechanical Engineers Campus life surely sucks Because there is no campus as such
