SGTB Khalsa College is one of the top colleges in the University of Delhi. With an excellent faculty of professors and good facilities in the college, it has always been in the top ranks of the best colleges to pursue under graduation in India. The admission process was very simple in 2013 and aligned with the guidelines provided by the University of Delhi. Based on percentage cut-offs, your admission is decided into the college for the particular course. Although I joined the first ever batch of the B.Tech Computer Science program, my experience was very good as the course structure was similar to any other engineering college in India with qualified professors for each and every subject. Apart from good education, one of the major reasons to join the college was its rich culture and participation in extracurricular activities. In case you are looking for a college with the right mix of good education and a lot of fun, SGTB Khalsa College should be on your list.

One of the major reasons to choose this program was the quality of the education you get at the University of Delhi. The teachers are very qualified with some of them having more than 25 years of experience. The batch size was 30 students for us and the faculty members were around 12. The term exams happened twice a year, once in Summer and once in Winter. The difficulty level was not very high considering how they teach you at the college.

2nd year and 3rd-year students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies like KPMG, EY, etc. visit the college for hiring every year. An average package stands around 4-5 lacs per annum. More than 90% of students are placed through campus placements. After I got the degree I took a job with Times Internet where I learned new skills and enhanced my personality for the corporate world.

The fees at the University of Delhi are very nominal when compared to some other colleges in India. There is a placement cell in the college that looks after the on-campus jobs and is run by the students. There are certain scholarships by the University that you may be able to find on their website in case you are interested in it.

The annual fest is called Lashkara and happens in the month of February every year. Many events are conducted during this 3 days fest with many celebrity performers joining in. The library is usually very up-to-date and one of the best and biggest in the whole of north campus. The classrooms are well lit with a provision of ACs to keep you cool during the summers. The sports culture at the college is very reputed and is encouraged a lot by the college leaders. You can find various cultural societies as well, doing music, theatre, and photography. I was part of the music society which was run by the students and my experience was exceptional.
