I am interested in my studies in home science, especially in nutrition. Then I searched for the best home science Colleges. I came to know that this is one of the best colleges for home science. It is an aided course so the fee is less. While I am joining the admission procedure was completely offline I had paid the application fee. After the selection through merit, I paid the institution fee of 1850. But now it is a completely online process. B.Sc food science and nutrition - totally 6 semester ie 2 semesters per year. For each semester including the exam, the fee is 12,000 - 13,000. The exam fee depends upon the number of papers per semester.
Course Curriculum Overview
I want to become a nutritionist so I have chosen this course. In ug, the strength is 60. The faculty student ratio is 1:6. All the faculty members are ph.D holders.ICT method is used. There will give a calendar of events for each semester accordingly exam will be conducted and results will be announced. The difficulty of passing is purely dependent upon the papers. In my course physiology paper was quite tough.
Placement Experience
In the second year of college, there will be an internship for 15 days. We have done it in multi speciality hospital/food industry. While doing itself we will know about the vacancy for various post. In the 3 rd year starting itself, the campus interview will be started. For preparing us for the interview the soft skill and communication skill class will be conducted. We had various recruitment from the pink ladies fitness centre, visionary RCM, Wipro, TCS etc., We can be an entrepreneur also after completing the degree. As we are having practical papers in Bakery and confectionery and new product development.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for my course is 24000/ per including the exam fee. If you are inside the hosteller the hostel fee and mess fee will be there. They will announce about the scholarship timely .there is a person allotted for that. For the sc/st community there is a fee concession. Campus Life
Every year Kalai vizha is conducted. Then each department will conduct some special activity. In my department, they used to conduct world breastfeeding week and world nutrition week. Our library is very big. It contains the books, journal from 1950 - 2021. It is having e facilities like in online we can access book with our password and login ID. The classroom is a smart classroom with projectors. It will be spacious to occupy 60 people in one class. At the ug level, we have select NSS/NCC/sports. Anyone is mandatory. To complete the course we need 142 credits. This NSS/NCC/ Sports in each semester there will be the exam. The campus has wifi access. Fee, faculty feedback form everything is online. Interview Experience
The admission procedure for food science and nutrition : Eligibility: Bio maths/ pure science group. If we met these eligibility criteria then the application form has to be filled up. Each year there will be some percentage. While I am joining the cut off is 80 - 90% for bc. For sc/ st the cut off is below 80%. There is no interview at ug level ie for B.Sc
