The Honest Review

I don't remember specific websites that I referred to for reviews. NMIMS Navi Mumbai, being a new campus had little to no track record for a guarantee of placements. Regardless of that, I chose this college as the faculty of NMIMS are supposed to be one of the best, and also added value of having an MBA degree from one of NMIMS's many campuses all over India is considered prestigious.

Due to the ongoing COVID scenario, we have been restricted to the online mode of MBA which only provides us with limited interactions with the faculties and our batchmates. I chose this course as I believe that it will add value to my career and help me grow. The faculty: student ratio is approximately 10 faculties for all us 72 students (of the first year) and 40 students (of the second year). Some of the faculties are really well versed in teaching methodologies and are able to communicate the essence of the lectures to the students in a very efficient manner. The exams were conducted as per schedule in an online mode irrespective of the restrictions imposed due to COVID. Being an MBA course, the exams were very practical and not that difficult to pass.

There are various companies that come for on-campus internship opportunities, but that is only during Summer Internship. During the normal course, students can get much better opportunities by opting for off-campus internships.

Considering other B-schools and the relaxation provided by them due to the COVID scenario, NMIMS stuck to its original fees that were agreed upon during the time of admission. I personally didn't require any financial assistance for paying the fees of the course.

Due to the COVID scenario, the MBA classes that were to be conducted in physical classrooms were shifted to online mode. The college formed different student bodies and committees that tried their level best to keep this shift to online mode interactive. Different occasions were celebrated online, even Diwali and Christmas. The annual event where different industry leaders were invited as guest speakers, MargDarshak by Student Council of SBM NMIMS Navi Mumbai, was also hosted online in a virtual auditorium.

Due to COVID, we were unable to avail the Hostel facility. After one year of online mode and cancellation of Hostel facility, I am still awaiting refund for the same. Also, the Hostel is provided and handled by a third party, which does not represent NMIMS or its staff.

There was a Case Discussion instead of a group discussion in which a particular scenario was presented to us and the participants had to act as the members of the board and come to a unanimous decision keeping in mind all the facts presented to us in the case.
