Exciting Journey at DAV college, Jalandhar

The college has a good reputation in the city and it offers different courses for many streams. Teachers are quite supportive and the overall infrastructure of the campus is in good condition like the library, canteen and also washrooms are clean and hygienic. The admission process of the college is simple and on a merit basis. For this course, your under graduation scores are considered and then you can fill the forms and take admission. I preferred this college because of the best teaching staff and it is affordable as well. Great Placement opportunities are also provided by the college. The only thing which should be improved is more practical projects should be provided to increase the experience of students.

The course is offering different subjects regarding various banking and financial services which were interest area at that time so that's why I selected this course. The faculty of this course was excellent they cleared all the concepts of every subject of this course. This a specialized PG course so students interested in this subject took admission in it. The strength was around 30 to 32 students in my class. Teaching methods are quite good proper notes and presentations are provided. There are two semesters in this course as it is a one-year course and exams were held after every 6 months. Exams were easy to pass as questions were around the syllabus and about all learnings that were taught in class.

There are many internship opportunities offered by the college in different companies like Times of India , Tehard India , magnik India Etc. Most of the internships are unpaid but some of them are paid in which payment is done on a performance basis. There is no on-campus internship available during my time. But recently they started their own internship " DAVIAN-O-INTERN" which is a 10 days internship programme for the students that are currently studying in the college. The skills students will get are communication, speaking, writing, digital, etc.

The students are eligible from last year or semester to apply for campus placements. There are many companies that came to campus for placements. Some of the companies are like BYJU'S , Lenskart,123 startup, Whitehat Jr. , AXA consultants etc. Some of the banks that offered placements were Capital small finance bank, Bank of America etc. The highest Package offered was around 8 to10 Lakh and the average package was around 3 to 4 lakhs.

This is one of the most affordable colleges of the city There are different scholarships that are provided by the college on merit basis and also scholarship is provided for the students on category ( like sc st etc) basis .and to the needy students that are not having strong financial background. There were many job opportunities provided by the college to students in this course in different private banks and companies.

The library of the college is big with a large number of books available of different authors. You can take your books from the book bank as well for the semester but has to return the same as soon as your exams are over. Classrooms are big with proper sitting arrangement ad good infrastructure. There are different clubs according to the stream like student welfare council etc. There is ground nearby the college where all the sports activities are played. Fests are also organized according to streams like one of it was commerce fest that held in April may and included activities like dance, singing GD'S and PPT's competition etc.
