SCMHRD_Business Analytics Review

SCMHRD is one of the prestigious B-Schools in India with a legacy of 26 years in management education. The Business Analytics course here provided me not only management learning but technical aspects of data analysis as well as practical learning by industry experts. The admission process was quite smooth and transparent where we were selected after clearing the cut-off in SNAP and then had to go through the GE-PI-WAT process at the institute. My interview was on 16th Feb 2020. One of the reasons to prefer the college was the course Business analytics, which was offered to me and college ranking. I had gone through Pagalguy, InsideIIM, CollegeDunia while selecting the college.

The Business Analytics course is at a boom right now since the Business Analysts are required in every company and alone management skills will not help in analysing the business but predicting for right will require analytics, hence this course was providing me with the right balance to be a good decision-maker in a company. For each course, the faculties are alloted from industry, hence we get exposure to current trends. The faculties are well trained & qualified to teach in the institution. We have a semester system at SCMHRD, though due to pandemic this year the semester exams were delayed by a month. but the process was quite smooth & the difficulty level of the tests was moderate.

Multiple big giants come to the campus to recruit students for internships with roles of business analyst and provide data analytics, consulting projects. The FMCG, consulting, sales, Data science companies are a few of them.

The college provides good placement to students with an average of 14.7 lakhs package to the students. Most of the students get placed. I would plan to join a consulting firm after getting the degree.

The tution fees of the college are 3,57,000 per semester. Though I feel, this should be reduced after the course went online due to the pandemic. I have received a scholarship from IDFC First Bank for MBA assistance for Rs. 2 Lakhs.

I have not got a chance to attend campus physically, so I have no idea how campus life. The annual fest of the college is named NEEV which was conducted in February this year. Books & journals are available in E-library. College students run multiple clubs including analytics club, sports, cultural club etc.

For BA course admission the admission process comprises of 1. SNAP Test cut-off 2. Technical WAT 3. WAT 4. Group Exercise 5. PI 6. Case study solving after PI. The 1 WAT Topic was related to current affairs & the other was abstract. In the GE round, we were asked to perform group activities on the spot. In PI, I was asked general HR questions. I had joined the career launcher to prepare for the same.
