I'm Prasun Das, a student in the department of Electrical Engineering at Calcutta Institute of Technology. You can admission either by cracking JEXPO or you can take direct admission. I will prefer this college over other colleges because this is one of the best colleges in our district. The college campus is really good and it provides a good platform for a student to gain knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview
Our faculty members are highly qualified and very friendly. They are not only our faculty members but also our mentors. Our department strength is 60. Each and every student gets attention and proper guidance from our faculty members. Our college is very strict regarding academics, internal exams are held before every semester without any fail.
Internships Opportunities
Our college provides internships in Flipkart. I am in 2nd year, but we are hopeful to get an internship in 3rd year. We also visit reputed government sectors like WBPDCL(KTPS), Indian Railways, etc. where we get exposure.
Placement Experience
The placement of this college is outstanding. Many reputed companies like EXIDE, VIDEOCON, AMAZON, etc. hire engineers from our college. Each year 8-10 companies visit our college. On average diploma engineer gets a package of 15k/- - 20k/-(per month), depending upon the company. Almost 95% of students get placed before the 5th semester. I will opt for higher studies(B.Tech) from this college.
Fees and Financial Aid
If a student takes admission after cracking JEXPO, then the fees is 19000/-(per semester) and if someone takes direct admission then the semester fees are 25000/-(per semester). Our college has few government scholarships and some private scholarships also. Placement is provided by the college.
Campus Life
Every year new students are welcomed with freshers programs, conducted by seniors. There are also annual sports conducted in the month of February - March. The library is very up-to-date. You can issue any book from the library free of cost. Our classrooms are quite good, labs are excellent! The washroom is not up to mark. The college organizes many programs like Tech Expo, where we get a platform to prove our skills.
