Know This before taking admission in GCET

The admission process is very smooth and can be just in just 1-2 hours by the students on the computers provided by the college on campus. Students need to fill an online form for admission to the college itself. College provides great exposure to the outside world and numerous seminars are held in which the guest lecturers are mostly from outside India and a researcher or a professor in top universities. This college comes under the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (UP). Travelling to the college is pretty easy as it is situated right in front of Knowledge Park metro station. The campus is 100% ragging free and freshers are allotted a separate building to ensure their ragging free experience. Games, sports, cultural fests, friendly competitions, FRIENDS QUIZ, Brain Storms and many more events are being held regularly. The only issue is travelling to the college, as from Delhi it takes me 2 hours to reach college. But if you're planning on taking a Hostel/PG you'll be just fine.

I chose Civil Engineering as I don't like desk work, and I'd rather prefer fieldwork. Talking about faculty student ratio, if you're standing anywhere in college, you'll find at least one of the faculty member there. I think the ratio would be 1:20-25. Faculties are very much qualified. Most of them are students from Creamy colleges of India. And they know their way around in making a child understand the topic. Term exams are held once at the end of every semester and they are organized by AKTU. You'll be given a centre right next to your college. If you study for 2 days before the exams, you'll surely pass the semester exams with ease. There's a book called QUANTUM with all the last 5 years question papers and solutions. That's enough for you to pass

Students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester for Btech. For the civil Department, 9LPA was the highest package offered last time by L&T. If you have the knowledge of your field and you've maintained 7-8 SGPA (is same as CGPA) you'll get an easy placement chance.

Students need to pay fees yearly of Rs 109000 for Btech. First year fees are Rs 133000 including all the other one time fees and security deposits. It's quiet. Econimical as compared to other colleges. There are many scholarship schemes given by the AKTU for the students. UP domiciled students with a quota (OBC, SC, ST) are entitled to get a 50-80% scholarship every year. In the covid situation, if the student has lost a parent, AKTU is offering to pay 100% scholarship of the student. The placement cell of the college works just fine. Average placement of 3LPA and for the civil Department, last year highest placement was of 9 LPA.

The annual fest last time was organised by Sunburn Campus. Tech fests are organized throughout the year of different departments. To my reach, I think the library has all the books. You name it you'll get it. Classrooms are allotted Smart screens and projectors if the faculty wants to show something online. There were no rounds of GD, INTERVIEW. for civil Engineering Merit based admissions are also open, given that student has secured at least 60% in PCM. Or else the entrance exam of AKTU is held every year and then the counselling process allots the college and courses for the students.
