Remarks

Ramnarain Ruia college is well-reputed in the field of arts with great teaching staff. Ruia college is always among the top most colleges in every intercollegiate event. However the bad aspect about this college is the lack of a playground and also isn't well equipped in terms of sports activities. The admission process starts from the month of May for senior college. I prefer this college over others because of it's a good reputation in the field of theatre and other cultural activities. I didn't refer to any website for selecting this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as I was interested in doing journalism. Faculty-student ratio here is about 1:15 The faculty here is very well qualified and practical education is given. There is one exam per term and is easy to pass if we attend lectures regularly.

Placement Experience

There are no campus placements available in the college. But once after completing the BMM degree, one can opt for working in any an agency, marketing firm, online website, etc. Or start your own business. Journalism students can work for any newspaper, magazine or TV news, radio, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees here are extremely reasonable. I didn't avail myself any scholarship as I am from the open category. But there are various scholarships available for reserved category students. There are no campus interviews as such but the placement cells give you several opportunities for the same.

Campus Life

Utsav Aarohan is the annual fest that is usually celebrated in the month of January. Tilt-shift is the departmental fest of BMM which is celebrated in the month of December. There are numerous books available in the college library and one can search for any desired book through the lib computer and then issue the same. Classrooms are air-conditioned but small in size. There are several extracurricular activities happening on campus every now and then. There is VPM/RSC which has several subgroups in it. All these teams are managed by students themselves to carry out different activities happening in the college smoothly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the timings are great for students who wanna work while studying, but that only starts in the SY because in FY there are lectures from 10 to 1, that will give youll time to enjoy as a student, where as in SY n TY lectures will be from 7 to 9

I will rate 6 out of 10 because the syllabus it has old information. The special aspect of the curriculum is about branding, strategy use to make strong brand in the market. The area for improvement in these curriculum is to provide student the proper software for technical or practical subjects. (like photoshop, indesign, etc.)

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Placement Experience:

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.

KJ Somaiya College is a very huge college and has a perfect system of everything. Proud to be a student of this college. They have extra curricular activities cultural forum fests and much more. They also have outdoor Games, athlete ground, hostels, 7 to 8 canteens. The teaching system is quite good they have compulsory 75% of attendance.

Inside scoop on ruia

Out of fright I applied to many colleges like KC , ruia , ruparel , wilson , Elphinstone etc but atlast decided to choose ruia as the microbiology department of ruia is outstanding and the no. of opportunities one can get when in ruia is very vast and the growth which happens in a place like ruia where there is a team/group/society for evey persons liking and ability . I didn't got any rejections as my score was 67 and every other college's science cut off was very low so there were many choices for me to make so as per the credibility of evey college i compared the department and curriculum and RUIA turned out to be the best . IN RUIA ONE CAN DEFINITELY BALANCE STUDIES , WORK AND EQUAL AMOUNT OF FUN DURING FESTS.
