GTBIT Review by Shiv

I came to know while taking admission in 2017 that GTBIT was ranked 5th in top colleges of IPU and also placement percentage was good comparatively, Although the admission part was slow as ate the time of admission where we have to submit our documents in college there was not a systematic way as they are calling students randomly but the venue was good. My Reason for choosing this college was that GTBIT was famous for Extracurricular Activities and Societies. I first came to know about this college by my Brother who was studying in DU and he knows about the Society of GTBIT as they perform every year in their college fests. Also, i searched more about this college on different platforms and sites and came to know that good number of students got placed every year from this college. when I first saw my college it was not a good experience as there was no ground in our college we have to go out of the college if we want to play something.

So talking about the course I have taken was because of my father and somehow I also want to do engineering, firstly I want to do Engineering in CSE, but I only got ECE as my branch in GTBIT. Talking about the faculty for 1st years faculty ratio was good as for 1 subject we have at least 3 teachers and teachers are good enough to teach us and can solve every query we have, But after 1st-year teachers are different and more experienced as from now onwards we are going to study about our branch only. Our HOD is very supportive and helps students in every situation, Other faculties in ECE was good enough as some of the teachers teaches the different subject in different semesters but the lab in charges and assistants have no experience as they got their job by quota. Most of the faculty's teaching method was excellent, although some of them only provide us notes and tell us to study. Mid-term exams are easy to pass as we have to Prepare only 2 units from each subject. Faculties don't fail you.

College offers so many internships related to Tech and non-tech fields as a student want to apply, the internship opportunities provided by the college were so good. Almost every month we got a minimum of 10 internship opportunities on campus and off-campus both. I have done 2 internships provided by the college and they also can hire you if they love your work. Internships provided are of two kinds fixed stipend and performance-based stipend. Although I have done 2 internships apart from college.

Our placement cell work so hard so that we have jobs in our hand before leaving the college. Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester, although college gives us internship opportunities from the 5th semester. As of now the highest package offered to ne in our college was 12lc approx., although students also got off-campus placements because college cell provides us information about that and prepare us for that also by holding seminars frequently. Companies like HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Paytm, E2E, swiggy, zomato, and more private companies offer nontech and tech jobs. Talking about the percentage almost 70% of students got placed before the college. Although some of them couldn't as they have active backlogs and some other reasons. For now, I just completed an internship provided by the college and apart from that, I'm looking for jobs in the non-tech field.

The fees of our college were High as it increases every year, as for my seniors it was around 90000 and in my year the fee was 120000. And it gets increase every year like now I'm in my final year and fees for the 1st-year student was 130000 approx. Although I haven't heard about any scholarship given by our college till now. But if someone has an issue while getting a loan or applying for or there was a delay in fees the college management was supportive as they will give you time. Talking about the College placement and internships, the college placement cell was so dedicated toward every student that they want us to get placed, as every year more than 100= companies came for the placement drive, Apart from that, they give us multiple internship opportunities as I have done 2 internships provided by a college placement cell. The college placement cell was working hard to get every student placed unless you have backlogs.

Our college revolves around different societies and you can say its one of the best thing in our college as there are more than 10 societies in which some of the mare tech societies and some are like Bhangra, Dance, Music and the society I'm part of ETCETERA dramatic society of our college and among these 4 dance bhangra and our society was most active ones. Although we mostly participate in DU colleges fest. And when we conduct our fest, three days of the fest was a blast, as numerous competitions take place. GTBIT societies were the main attraction for the new students. Our library has almost each and every book we need for our engineering, and if we cant find them teachers help us to arrange it for us. Sports clubs are not that active in our society. Our college is known for extracurricular activities like bhangra, dance, and dramatics. And all the society was run by students themselves. although we have one headteacher, but they only provide us funds for society.
