My Opinions About Calcutta Institute of Technology

I am Soumyajit Kumar, a final year student of Diploma Electrical Engineering at Calcutta Institute of Technology. I was appeared in Jexpo 2018 and got a chance to get admission in Kolaghat Govt. Polytechnic via online counseling. But the distance between that college and my home was large and some of my personal reasons made me not take admission in that college. Then I have taken admission in Calcutta Institute of Technology, which is a very well-known college in our state. Students can take admission in this college by either appearing in Jexpo or they can also take direct admission for a diploma. Only after the 10th pass, students will be eligible for a diploma. As it is a private college, you can take admission from different backgrounds like Arts and Commerce.

By studying Electrical Engg, I will be eligible for both Govt and Private jobs. I will get good job offers. And also I have heard this department is very good in this college, so I have chosen this course. The faculty members are very well educated and supportive and they teach us in a very friendly and easiest way. They also arrange special classes on Soft Skills to improve our Communication Skills in English. The exams are not so much difficult, by studying hard with proper guidance anyone can get good marks.

We have been given a chance for an internship in Flipkart. Normally 65% of students get job offers from different popular companies like Kiswok Industries Pvt Ltd, Grupo Antolin, Nirmal Group of Wires, Badve Engineering, etc in Bengal or out of Bengal.

I have taken admission in 2018 and I pay 19000/- per semester, as I have passed HS in Science Stream. But the students from other 12th backgrounds like Arts and Commerce can also take direct admission but they have to pay an extra 25000/-. The semester fees include tuition fees, college uniform, bag, and also you will get books from the library each semester. In my college life, I have not applied for any scholarships.

The college environment is very calm, full of greenery and it's spread over a large area perfectly suitable for studying. Various course-related books, previous year question papers are available in the college library, The classrooms and labs are well organized and regularly maintained. But the condition of our Canteen is not so good and it needs immediate improvement. Different sports arrangements are there like Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, they organize Annual Sports tournaments, Tree Plantation Program, Annual Fest, Model Presentation Event like Tech Expo.
