Entrance Preview
At the time of my admission in 2012, IGDTUW was IGIT under GGSIPU. It became a university in 2014. So I took IPU-CET and scored 3082 rank. I opted for this college as it is a great option for girls who want to have technical knowledge. Also, the college has great placements and I got placed in Hero Motocorp Ltd during campus placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I undertook was Mechanical And Automation Engineering. The course covers subjects of Mechanical and automation extensively. There are labs for having a practical knowledge of the subjects. Also, there are teams for various competitions like efficycle,baja,supra, robocon etc. In 7th semester, I took up Automobile Eng and Personnel Management as my electives and in 8Th semester I had IC engines and Power plant practices as my electives.
Internships Opportunities
Some companies like TVS, Amazon offer internships as well as Pre-placement offers to students. Average stipend in around Rs. 10k.
Placement Experience
The campus placements are excellent in IGDTUW. Companies like Mahindra, Hero Motocoro, Honda Cars, Maruti , General Motors, GE , Amazon, Thoughtworks, Cisco, Microsoft, etc visit the college. More than 50 companies visited the campus in year 2015-16 and average package was around 6-7 lpa.
College Events
The college has a annual tehcnical fest named Innerve and an annual Cultural fest named Taarangana.Both of them are 2 day affairs which is a great fun. Also the college hosts a Diwali mela for its students and many small fun events on day to day basis.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is quite feasible. The annual fee is around 75k for a student which is quite affordable. Also there are various scholarships for economically weaker students.
Campus Life
Campus life in this college is good. The only thing is that it is an all girls college, But you still enjoy with your girl gang.
Hostel Facilities
There are 2 hostels which are built inside the campus premises itself. The hostel has twin as well as triple sharing facilities, a common room, gym and badminton court.The mess food is quite good and hygienic.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni and seniors are helpful and easily accessible. There is an alumni club as well.
Exam Structure
The university has semester system.Each semester has 2 minor examinations, 1 practical examination and 1 university examinations. The exam system is not very hectic and gives a student a lot of time for other curricular activities.
Faculty
The faculty is highly trained and helpful. They guide you in every problem and even in the projects.
