All about College life

I applied for Allahabad University apart from Ewing Christian College and my reason for not attending the same were. Firstly,it was far from my place and secondly my subject preference was not taken into consideration . Quota- I belong to general category so i did not avail any of the quota . The admission procedures were simple ,first we need to fill up the admission form and thereafter clear the entrance test .The minimum criteria fo clearing the entrance is 80/190 marks .and maximum age is upto 22 yrs .After clearing the entrance test ,verification of documents takes place ,and the subject preference is taken into consideration according to the merit list .After the document verification counselling takes place regarding the subject which has been opted.

I am currently pursuing Bachelors of Arts in Psychology ,Economics and English.I opted this course because I aspire to be a Government servant ,and all these subjects will help in achieving my goal. English department is very precious department of this college .All the teachers are well versed in their subjects and highly experienced . The faculty is well equipped and teachers are well versed in their subjects and teaches in bilingual language as per the students requirements .The student ratio in each class is quite huge ,70 students per class .The term exams were timely scheduled and the paper pattern is tricky and point to point answers are expected .

Fees of campus is a bit high in comparsion to other colleges in the city but the quality of education is satisfactory. For Bachelor of Arts 5000-12000, Bachelor of Science 25000-40000,Bachelor of Commerce 25,000-30,000.MBA program 40000 and for BBA 35,000.The scholarship is given by the goverment of Uttar Pradesh and the whole fees is reverted back to the students account including some extra allowances.

There are various sports for both boys and girls .Each year sports day is conducted and various sports like hockey,badminton,cricket,volleyball is conducted.Spandan is the annual fest of the college organised in the month of November -December.The library has ample number of books but the main issue faced is not more than one book is issued at a time.

There are various options of pg available nearby especially for girls if they need one, also the college faculty also suggests you one if you take the intiative to ask them about the same. There are posters and banners all over the place to help student navigate through one of the pg or hostels nearby.
