Remarks
I didn't apply for any other college since I got a decent rank of 1538 in IPU CET. I knew that I would get Maharaja Surajmal Institute easily considering my rank. I didn't avail any quota whatsoever for admission process. The admission criteria for BBA is a minimum 60% aggregate in 12th standard in any stream and a rank below 5000. In IPU there are 3 rounds of counselling for admission which is based on your IPU CET rank. The better the rank, the better the college. I got MSI in the 1st round itself so I froze my seat and paid the advance admission fee of 40,000 to secure the seat. There is also a 4th or 5th round for filling up the empty seats (if any). After all the rounds end and all the seats are filled, students are required to visit the college and pay the remaining 60,000 by issuing a DD in the name of the college along with some forms that need to be filled and submitted. And that's it. They'll issue you a receipt which you need to carry to college until you get your I-cards.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I wanted to pursue a career in the field of Marketing or HR and BBA would provide me the practical knowledge and necessary skills needed for it. As far as the faculty is concerned, the teachers are extremely helpful and readily available for any kind of queries or doubts. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers who own degrees like Ph.D, M.Phil and have cleared exams like UGC-NET. All of them excel in their respective fields. The teacher to student ratio is somewhat satisfactory. The teachers encourage you to gain practical experience via internships and trainings, while also helping through sharing their personal experiences to make the students industry ready. The term exams happen timely in strict accordance with the academic calendar and are not at all difficult to pass if you're clear with your concepts and theories. The Akash books can be purchased for the various subjects to know the pattern of paper. The syllabus is not hard at all.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like Whitehat jr., IHS markit, Impactguru etc offer internships to students with a stipend ranging from 3,000 to 6,000. They offer a variety of roles like sales and marketing, campus ambassador, HR, business development etc. Projects like conducting surveys for market research, generating leads for sales and products, creating advertising and marketing campaigns etc are done by the students. Such tasks not only put the theoretical knowledge to use but also provides hands on experience to the students so they can have a better career in future.
Placement Experience
Students start getting pre-placement offers from the 4th sem and campus placements in 5th and 6th sem. The placements offered at MSI make this college the most renowned for courses like BBA, BCA, BCOM etc. Famous companies like Amazon, Byjus's, Policy Bazaar, Deloitte, The Times of India, Wipro and many more come every year to recruit students of MSI. The highest package of MSI was 17 LPA for the company D.E Shaw. 10 students of BBA & B.com(Hons) were selected in EduTrainer at the package of 8.40 LPA, while 3 students of BBA were selected in Usha International at the package of 6 LPA. The campus shows good placement history with a detailed summary given on their website msijanakpuri.com containing track record of placements since 2017. I plan to go for a job after getting my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The approximate total fee of the program is 3 Lakhs i.e. 1 lakh per year for 3 years. The college also provides financial assistance to the EWS category and various scholarships that the students can avail. Since I'm in 2nd year I haven't any jobs yet but the Internships here are really great. The placement cell really works hard in providing amazing opportunities to the students in both unpaid and paid internships with a wide diversification in companies and roles.
Campus Life
There are three fests that take place in the college. Genesis- the cultural fest, Avensis-the technical fest and Enva-the fest of the environmental society of the college. All of these happen in the month of January- February. The central library has a well-stocked collection of the latest editions of books by prominent authors. It is also equipped with a decent Wi-Fi facility. The classrooms are well lit and capacious with a good ventilation through windows. However, only the classrooms on the top floor of MSI have ACs, rest of the classrooms on any other floor do not have ACs. The ground is decently huge with sports and games like badminton, football, cricket, volleyball etc. There are various societies and clubs being run by students in theatre, fine arts, dance, music, marketing etc. Prakriti is the biggest and the most famous society of our college which has its own fest too!
