Must read, before going to GALGOTIAS. Is GALGOTIAS a good one

I applied for PSIT, GLA, LPU, IPEC and GCET(Galgotias College of engineering and technology, both are different Galgotias College and galgotias University), I found GCET better than other colleges as it is a college better than universities and it is above of other colleges and has a good place in U.P. I haven't applied any quota, though there are many quotas you can apply with. Going with admission criteria you have to clear UPSEE and if not then you should have at least 65% marks in PCM in class 12th with no age restriction, this is the only criteria to fulfil to sit in counselling.

I choose CSE as I have an interest in computers, though people take CSE because of the good placements I took because of my interest, I also score 100/100 in my class 10th and 12th, choosing without your interest will not help you. The faculty at GCET is good as teachers tries very hard to help students and in online mode also teachers complete syllabus on time and they are ready to take your doubts but at the end being a college student you have to study on your own. Most of the teachers are PhD and hold a degree of Dr. in core subjects and there also assistant teachers to help you. The teaching method is also good as other than regular classes in the week there is an extra class of every subject only for your doubt solving. We have exams after every CO(chapter) every 2 weeks, I can say other than that there is an end semester exam which is conducted by AKTU after every semester with fixed dates and time all across U.P.

There are several companies that offer internships some are SIPL, guide2sucess, inglu, ablworkspaces and many more of several roles like business development, human resource, social media marketing, business management and many more. You have to do the projects according to the companies which doffer from companies to companies to be a part of and you lots of perks as your outcome to clarify the task such as certificate, letter of recommendation and others depending upon companies to companies.

Students become eligible for campus placement from the 6th semester as companies start visiting the college for students who are in the 3rd year or 6th semester. In GCET many companies visit like TCS, Wipro, HCL, Amazon, dream11, byju's, and many more companies and it has any offers that every student of CSE will have 2 jobs at the end. The highest package is 35 lakhs which is achieved by a student last year and the average package is quite good that is 5 lakhs, it is an average package. Profiles offered are almost every depending upon and the student from the call centre, junior developer, to senior developer. GCET has a percentage of about 94% to 95% for main branches and it further rises for CSE branch. My plan is to get a place in one of the top companies and the best one according to my potential to make contacts and to work hard in whichever company I get placed in.

Going to GCET, one of the reasons is fees, no doubt they are good but they also have a less free comparing to their nearby colleges which charge quite a good amount, having similar position. Yearly you have to pay 1,25,000 it is quite a good amount but trust me colleges having similar ranks and reviews charge more than this and when you compare for 4 years that difference is much, you can compare with other colleges and universities like LPU and all. Going with scholarship, I did not get any as I did not come under the criteria and it differs with percentage, family income and for state scholarship caste and other factors also come, do check and if you come under it you will definitely get it.

We witness my fest and event in the year other than annual fests like Tarang, Daksh, CSE department fest, every club fest and many other events from college and by other colleges, the annual fest takes place in November. We have a very good library with almost all the books available and whatever I needed I got every book there are many sets of every book so you will never face a problem of limited books. You can issue a book for 15 days for free and can further re-issue with no cost. We have good air conditioned classrooms with good space and you will be comfortable in them. You can witness good activities of sports and very good curricular activities as it takes place every month so you will never complain about it. There are around 25 clubs in GCET all run by students and they directly report to the owner of the college, some are marketing club, rotary club, sponsorship club, lingo freak, loop, chitrashala, kalakriti, and many more in which one can be a part of.

The hostel is fair enough in GCET when comes to boys, one will get a bed, cupboard, chair and a table that's it, you also get a washing machine which you can use to wash your clothes at a very low price. Coming to girls hostel it has good rooms and more facilities one(girls) can go with college hostel as their hostel is way better than boys. The meal is also fair not good as the food is not up to the mark they have quite an impressive menu but the taste of food is not, you will not like the mess food one can go with good canteen food. You can simply register online on the going college website or you can book your hostel while taking admission you have to show your admission receipt, that you are a part of college and you will get the room. One can go with the nearby PG as they are good comparing to college hostel, they provide a better quality of living, good food, pick and drop service to your college and at the same rate as that of your college hostel.
