st.xavier's ahmedabad review

I have applied to the st. xavier's college and got admission. i don't avail any quota for admission. admission criteria were based on the merit list which is created based on your class 12th and 10th percentage. marks needed to be more or around 75%. admission process along with the merit list followed by the interview.

I chose this course because I wanted to work in the computer field but couldn't crack iit and get c.s department and private colleges were very costly. The faculty was good and cooperative. most of the faculty were ph.d or master holders and teaching style included theory with practical and were normal. the exam was timely based on the schedule provided and no delay happens in the exam process. copy check was fair so, if you don't write answer well it will be impossible to pass the exam and no bonus marks in the exam are given.

Students become eligible for campus interviews by 5th semester or 3rd year. a company like t.c.s, GreyCells Labs, Wipro, infotech e.t.c used to visit our college for placements. the company used to provide offers for different posts.

No fee hike happened in college. there were little fee hikes but was not so high in terms of number. there were no scholarship, financial assistance programs held in our colllege. but many companies and seminars for job guidance used to happen in our college at a regular basis. it gives the view and insight to students and chooses a career path.

yes, annaul fest and sports fest organized in our college with different names every year in the month of November- December. the campus had 2 libraries. the library was available but our BCA stream book was not too much but another library was pretty big and almost every stream book was available there. the journal was maintained for the book issued and returning. The amenities of the classroom were fine. college is highly engaged in sports and extracurricular activities. college is champion in the Intersport or university football matches in the Ahmedabad.

Room facilities was average but it was very cost effective in that it charge only 5k for 6 months and 1800 per month for food. we had 3 beds with 3 fans in our room and seperate almirah/ cupboard and table chair for each student to study. meal was average but cost effective. there was no any restriction on number of time you can take the meal and meal variety varies with the day from sunday to saturaday. hostel is very much affordable and reasonable and registration process happens at the time of college admission online.
