Insights of my College

I had applied for various colleges like Amity. But due to high fees for a BTech degree, I went on to take admission to the Bansal Institute of Science and Technology. I came to know about this college through a relative who was already studying in that college. There were no admission criteria as such. We just have to be 12th pass. However, there is a discount on candidates who have appeared in jee mains and have scored good marks. I filled up my admission form by going to the college itself. The process was very smooth. After my application got accepted, I had to verify my documents. And this was the whole admission process. It was very hassle-free. I took admission in June 2018 and I joined my classes in the last week of July.

I opted for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering due to my interest in the computer space and the fast-changing technological aspect in this world. There is an ample amount of faculty for each branch. Most of the faculties have master's degrees in their field and some go on to having a PhD. They know what they are teaching and present each and every topic in a crisp and clear manner. The mid-term exams used to happen at the given time before the corona pandemic. After the pandemic, the whole schedule had to be postponed but now everything is back on track and going on as it should be. To pass exams one has to keep up with the syllabus the whole semester. The exams are not very tough but they are not easy either.

There are various internship opportunities available. There are many IT companies located in Bhopal which provides the opportunity of entering with them. Students from the Civil Engineering branch do their internship at the sister company of the Bansal Group called Bansal Constructions who is currently responsible for a major project of renovation of Habibganj Railway Station. Various groups like Internshala also give internship opportunities to the students. Most of the IT companies give the role of System Engineer to the interns. The students of the 3rd and final year have to submit minor and major projects. We do these by forming groups.

All the students of the final year are eligible for college placements. Some of the top companies that visit the campus are- Byjus, UpGrad, Infosys, Capgemini, HCL, JustDial, etc. The students are also allowed to take part in the off-campus drives. The highest package goes up to 10 LPA, and the average package is around 3.5 LPA. The average percentage of students getting placed ranges from 75% to 90%. There are various students who have other plans rather than getting placements. Out of which mostly opt for GATE exams and various government exams like IES and PSUs.

The fees for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering are INR 60,000 per year. For a private college to take so much of fewer fees and yet provide with all the facilities is really commendable. There is an opportunity for scholarships for students belonging to a backward caste. This scholarship is given by the government of Madhya Pradesh. For those wanting to apply for education loans, the college has a partnership with Punjab National Bank. They help us to get in touch with the bank and do all the paperwork in the college itself.

The campus life in the college is amazing. There are various fests that happen throughout the year. Out of these fests, the biggest one is Bansalotsav. In this, the whole college participates in various events ranging from sports, cultural programs to robotics and coding. The fresher's party is also to conducted wherein the fresh faces show their talents. There is a library which has all the books related to various courses. Daily newspapers, weekly and monthly magazines are also available. One can get any book issued and return it in the given period of time. The college also gives us the opportunity to participate in intercollege sports activities. Students can also become a part of groups like NSS and NCC. Both are available on the campus.
