Life at Reck, an engg college

Good aspects are- 1) It's a state government College, so fees is less as compared to other private Institutions. 2-) Students of this government colleges gets scholarship first, as provided by UP government. 3-) Scholarship includes a total tution fees+ hostel fee nearly about 64000 4-) Most of the faculties are from IITs and NITs Bad aspects are- 1-) College campus is under construction, So boys of (2, 3,4) year has to live outside the hostel. 2-) Lack of proper full fledged canteen 3-)campus is located 22km remotely from the City kannauj, 4-) There's no nearby multiplex, malls, parks etc. Reason for preferring this college because of easily accessibility- the college is 10 km far from Lucknow -Agra Expressway. And take nearly 1:30 hour to reach to Lucknow by your own vehicle.

The course is followed by the syllabus prescribed by AKTU(Abdul kalam Technical University). I preferred this course because being passionate about a Civil Engineering. Faculties of this college are well qualified from Top IIT's and NIT's. Especially all the faculties of Applied Science are Phd holder's from IIT's and IIM's.Student to faculties ratio is average as there is a lack of government faculties in the college. But there are many Guest faculties who are full filling the vacancies. Teaching method is mixed some preferred to teach on white board while applied science classes occur on Projectors in the conference Hall. Total Three Exams are held during the semester. In which Two are class tests and one is university end-semester examination.Scoring in the class test is very tough because paper level is difficult. But in the university exam it's very rare to get a difficult paper.

Placements are good in the computer science and electronics departments but for electrical and civil department it is very bad. From Civil department, I am the only placed candidate among my Batchmates, and placed in the non-core educational tech. Some students of Computer science gets a very good package of 10 lpa in byjus. Most of the students in the college prepare for GATE and don't rely on the college placement cell.

Total academic fees is 60500 for first year,then 54000 for 2nd , 3rd and 4th year which includes 40000 tution fee, 1000 development fee, 13000 other charges. Hostel fees is 14000 and mess advance is 16500 which deposited separately. Students having family income less than 2 lakh get scholarships easily. There's no any type of financial assistance for btech students.

Infrastructure of the campus is not so good as the whole campus is under construction only the academic block, two hostels and director's residence is completedRest (auditorium, 3 hostels and faculties residences are incomplete). The construction is stayed by the court as there is some political issues. There's one hostel for boys and one for girlsAnd a playground for football cricket volleyball.

Yes written test was held by the AKTU university which was called UPSEE.I have given paper-6 for diploma students to get lateral entry into 2nd year of btech.Now admissions in First year is on the basis of jee main score card. And for lateral entry another exam NTA UPCET is going to conduct form 2021 onwards.
