Remarks
I chose to study in pondi because of the environment of the place. Another reason being I did not find any other suitable college to study this course. After doing some research, this college was still open for admissions and so I applied here. The national ranking of this college is 63 according to NIRF, it is UGC approved as well.The admission process is based totally based on merit, group interview and followed by a personal interview. So i feel lucky to get a seat in this prestigious college, and also for the application fee, I paid rs 1000.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was a 2 year programme and the reason for me to opt this was because my dad ran a tourism agency and in the future I wished to expand it and make it go big. I also love travelling. During the course, I started viewing tourism as a product and also learnt about chain business in tourism and communication as well. The departmental faculty too were very good. The teaching methodology was assignment based and ppt based. All our exams were semester based. Our internal marks and assignments were added in the external which made it kind of convinent for us to qualify for the exam.
Placement Experience
The placement rate is about 60%. We had to apply for placements after which recruiters would give out the further details of the job role. The process was followed by personal interview, and in some it was written tests as well as GD rounds followed by a personal interview. The companies that visited for my department were makemytrip, thomas cook, Cognizant and pickyourtrail. The average package starts from 2.5 lakhs p.a and can reach upto 10 lakhs pa. I got a job from the placement cell as well in Thomas Cook as an HR and my annual package was 3.5 lakhs pa.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fee structure during my time was 1.4 lakhs . It was a two year programme. The fees were divided semester wise. It consisted of four semester. In the 1st semester i paid around sixty six thousand and in the second it was around ten thousand. The payment was the same for the remaining two semesters as well. This uni offers schlarships as well, but it is merit and need based. Eligible students receive it on the basis of semester. For need based, the annual family income should not exceed more than 2lakhs pa.
Campus Life
There are events such as Bancquest fest. It is an annual event of MBA with its main objective is to connect the industry and the students by showing our talents and skills. There are events such as quiz, best manager, tech connection and also hackathon. It also has techno cultural fest including annual college sports as well. We also had a list of sporting activites as well. The campus also has libraries and cafeterias. Annual lectures are held as well with prominent alumni members visiting the campus.
