Remarks

I have appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test(NEET) after class 12 exam. But my rank was not good and I did not got any seat for BDS in government college. So I have registered for BDS course in several private university and got a seat first in Manipal University. So I chose this university. My admission is purely based on the NEET exam rank and finally a seat is alloted by Directorate General of Health Services.

I want to serve the society so that I want to be a medical professional that's why I have chosen this course. The course curriculum is very good and it includes several things like Anatomy, Biochemistry Physiology Dental,Anatomy & Histology Medical,Microbiology, General Pathology Pharmacology Dental Materials and Technology and in the final year I got the opportunity to do General Dental Practice. Faculty members in our college are very approachable and experienced. Lectures are recorded and are available for viewing through an online portal.

As my course is professional and its a field of medical science so the matter of placement and companies are irrelevant. Me and some of my friends have started to take preparation for Master degree entrance exam. Some of my friends opted for abroad education from this university and they got this opportunity only because of the high quality teaching of my university.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total course fees of BDS program is 27,70,000 and per year per year fees is near about 7,00,000. The course fees is too expensive but my university provides some scholarship schemes and opportunities for educationl loan for which it was not impossible for me to afford the course fees. A scholarship name -Kalam pai scholarship is provided for us on the basis of rank in NEET exam.

Campus Life

The infrastructure of our college is at par with high course fees. The latest technology might not be available for students as it is a teaching institute. However, appropriate amenities are present on the campus. A separate department exists for dental materials. A separate dental building is located adjacent to KMC hospital. However, the patient inflow is pretty average as well. There is a 4-storeyed health science library, and it is open to all students. The Wi-Fi routers are present almost everywhere, and it is provided for free to every student. A wide array of hostels are available. A well-equipped gym is available at a minimal fee.

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time. The question paper are sometimes difficult and the question will be from out of syllabus which will be difficult to attend. Distance learning course is difficult to manage

They provide good curriculum and better syllubus which covers most of the geology and oceanography topics especially physical and chemical oceanography, climatology, hydro geology and other topics but practically they seems little back they doesn't provide new instruments for surveying and oceanography they still following old techniques which is not relevantly used in this time

From 7th to 8th semester students become eligible for campus placement and various types big hotel brands, airlines, cruiselines and big companies visit to recruit or give placements to students and average offers are made around 600000 lakhs per annum. Collage provides 100% placement to students and we go for intership twice, once in 3rd semester and second in 8th semester. we can choose whereever we want to do our intership even we can apply for abroad interships. After I complete my degree I am planning to get a job in any international brand or cruiselines then after 2-3 years of experience I will do complete my masters then I will settle down with a nice job in India.

The Pros and Cons of being a student at MIT Manipal

I tried JEE but could not secure a good enough percentile to get into prominent NITs. MIT Manipal seemed to be better than any of the cet colleges with only the course fee being slightly on the higher end. I applied to SRM and VIT, both of which i got accepted into, but opted out as it seemed like both of these colleges rely heavily on student intake and are money minded. MIT Manipal has an exam called the MET which is based on a jee scheme (+3 -1). In my year the only marks required to secure a seat in the college was the MET but the scheme has changed and now board marks are also taken into consideration. JEE percentile can also be considered if the student secures above 95 , but most students take MET and are given ranks according to it....Read More
