Remarks
Good aspects:1. It was established in 1921 , so it has a huge alumni base and reputation.2. Faculty is good and experienced.3. Student crowd is good.4. It is ranked no.1 in UP state colleges.5. Non core courses like Paint, Oil , plastic technology are also offered.6. Good placement. Top companies visit the campus every year.Bad aspects:1. Old and poor infrastructure.2. Quality of students is windling year by year.3. Fees is a lot according to the amenities offered.4. boring college life with restrictions on girls.
Course Curriculum Overview
When it comes to academics, HBTI is better than many colleges. I got mechanical engineering through counselling. It was my 4th choice. Faculty is well educated and knowledgable but they are not interested in teaching. They have other research work going on. Student:faculty ratio is okay as the number of students is not a lot. Passing is easy but the marking done by faculty is strict. Exams were timely, two class tests and one final exams every semester. there were two semesters in one year.
Internships Opportunities
I did summer training in Tata Motors and Delhi Metro rail corporation. I got these through my hard work. On campus, a few companies like exxon, Suez, St Gobain, Optum, etc did visit for interns and offer a stipend of more than 10000 per month.
Placement Experience
From seventh semester, students become eligible for placements.Exxon, Samsung R&D, Maruti, hero Moto corp, Tata Motors, Oyo, Technip, Optum, TCS, GAIL, Adobe, IndiaMart, Asian Paints, Evalueserve, ZS Associates, IBM, Aditya Birla Group, St, Gobain, L&T, Reliance Industries, Polestar, DMI Finance, these are some of the companies that visited the campus in 2019-20 session. All the stats are available on official website. There are many more I cant recall now. I got place at evalueserve at 5 Lakh per annum CTC. The highest package offered on campus was 15 lakh, off campus it was 44 lakh.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees is currently 2.5 lakh per annum aggregate( comprising tution, hostel and mess fees). Scholarship is available for people with annual income below 2 lakh per annum. And for SC/ST, there was no tution fees. I got placed in Evalueserve at package of 5 lakh per annum CTC.
Campus Life
The name of annual university fest is 'Adhyaay' Generally conducted in the month of November or april. The library is huge, and has all the curriculum books, where you can issue them and study. amenities in classroom are air conditioner, smart board, slide projector. Sports played on the campus are TT, badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket. It has all the amenities to play these sports. The west campus of university has a gym too. There are groups/socities like Debnexus(Debating), Qufratt(Quizzing), some new groups too for dancing, art are there too.
Admission
Admission criteria when I took admission was through UPSEE. I got rank 1254. Currently, it is on the basis of JEE-Mains score. No group discussion, or interview is taken. Test pattern is the same as JEE Mains. You need to separately apply for counselling throgh the university website.
