I wanted to pursue my B.Tech from a top-notch institute that'll help me later and provide me good job opportunities and according the most of my teachers and peers, IIT Madras was the perfect one and as it had 1st position in NIRF Engineering Ranking, I was also convinced with their opinion. So, I gave my JEE Mains and JEE Advanced and aimed to score high as per the institutes cut off and after preparing for about an year, I finally made the cut-off and decided to opt of it. During the online application process, I was required to pay a registration fee of INR 500.
Course Curriculum Overview
The rigors of academic study here at each level were balanced with a number of other related activities that included co-curricular activities and special lectures on varied topics of academic relevance. As part of the curriculum, a number of conferences, symposia and workshops were organized by the faculty. Also, not only the faculty members here were amazing but their industrial collaborations made them different from other institutes of India as they have distinguished themselves through awards for academic activity from national as well as international organizations.
Placement Experience
Here the placement process was done day-wise which came to benefit later as some of my seniors suggested me not to look for early days placement rather look for profile matching experience as a lot of good companies come on the later days of the placement season. But the best part was that during the placement semester, I got to interact with the graduating people, just graduated seniors/batchmates who helped me a lot during this difficult process. In my opinion, this was the best time for me as I got getting graduated from IITM. Other than this, the Career and Placement Center also assisted us by training us professionally before administering us into the industry as better professionals and individuals who contribute to the industry in major ways. More than 240 companies visited us and made more than 1000 job offers.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for my B.Tech program at IIT Madras was INR 2.84 for 4-year program which was to be paid in 8 installments per term which was considerably one of the lowest fee when compared to other business schools in India. The fee structure was quite cost efficient and affordable to me.
Campus Life
Life at IITM was amazing! There was a lot that I explored in this huge campus including cycle ride, night life, Beaches, Saturday OAT movie, Wolf night, Freshie night, and much more to experience. With the green lashing and beautiful campus , we also had a lot of infrastructure facilities that we had access to, such as we had playing grounds, theatre, shopping mall, hotel, swimming pool, post office, banks, grocery store, gym- all of these along with world-class classroom and lab facilities. Mostly, I miss birthday celebrations, some planned and some unplanned class trips, canteen debates, participating in events like Saarang and Shaastra, and so much more.
