Real review of KIT

I applied to the Kanpur Institute of technology through the UPSEE entrance exam, I did not apply for any quota. One must clear the cutoff for taking admission to this college through UPSEE counseling. The admission process was smoothly conducted without any problem as the management was very helpful.

I chose mechanical engineering as my trade as I have to continue my family business. There are quite a good number of faculty here. The ratio of student to faculty is also quite good. Faculty here are highly qualified and most of them are graduated from top Indian institutes. They are very helpful also. Class tests were conducted every month and it was not that tough to pass them.

Students from the 7th sem onwards are eligible for the campus placements. Top recruiters of the college are Hindalco, L&T, Suzuki, Ambuja Cement, IFFCO, and few others. The highest package is 8 LPA whereas the average package is about Rs. 2.5 LPA. About 50 percent of students get placed in on-campus placements. My plan after getting the degree is to continue my family business.

Fees here are normal as compared to other colleges of AKTU. There is no fee hike every year. Fees for the mechanical branch are around Rs. 1 lakh per year. Various scholarships are available here like management scholarships based on merit in the qualifying exam, topper award, tuition fee waiver, and also the UP government scholarship program.

Engenouis is the annual Technical fest that is organized every year in the month of February. It is a 2-day event. A celebrity comes on the 2nd night (DJ night) of that event. It is very enjoyable. The lecture theatres are big, ventilated and projectors installed in every one of them. The central library provides books for the semester and also other books if the students want to learn anything. The sports ground is also there in KIT. All together, life is very good at KIT.
