Remarks
I applied for RGU, Christ ( Deemed to be University) and Amity University. But I went for RGU because it was convenient to stay closer to my family during the covid pandemic situation. I did not avail for any quota and got admission solely based on my marks and personal interview. The eligibility criteria was to have 50% marks in our 10+2 examination. Followed by a personal interview.
Course Curriculum Overview
This course promises to provide an internship program in the 3rd year if our course. This course is more practical-based and trains the students to be prepared for the real practical world by providing them with more day-to-day knowledge about the industry. Moreover, the placement offers of ICA is very tempting. This was the reason why I chose this course. The teachers are the best part. They are very friendly and help us to understand things from it's roots. They have always treated us like their own children. We have 4 exams annually, 2 semester-end exams, and 2 mid-semester examinations. Due to the pandemic, we had our 1st mid-sem exam online, even if it was open book, it was difficult to get good marks since the questions are concept-based and the time limit is tight. The annual exam was pretty moderate but we need to keep the time factor in mind.
Internships Opportunities
In the 3rd year of the course I have chosen, an Internship is a must. To enhance our work experience internship is like a subject in the 3rd year on the basis of which we are marked. However, the college itself does not provide any internship facility as per my knowledge, and getting internships totally depends on us. But this course helps us in getting an internship in our 3rd year. We can get internships under any accounting or finance-related company since the course is specialized in Accounting and Finance. And since our course is also a collab with ICA the outer work networks are really good and we get a better opportunity when it comes to internships or placements.
Placement Experience
I am not totally familiar with the placement structure but the average placements for the student's od RGU range from 3-4 lakhs. Companies like Hindustan Motors L&T infotech, etc have made placement offers. I plan on getting higher education abroad after finishing my bachelor's in 2023. One con about the placement structure is that the average placement value ranges from 3-4 lakhs whereas some courses cost upto 6 lakhs or more here. But the program I am income with this benefit. ICA has a good network and provides placement all over India.
Fees and Financial Aid
We need to pay the fees Semester wise i.e. 65000 per semester. The admission fees were 105000 which covered the registration fee, admission fee, caution money, tuition fee, development fee, library fee, activity fee, and examination fee. It did not cover the hostel or transportation fee. The annual transportation fee costs 40000 INR and the hostel fee depends on the category applied for, like 2 seater (87,000), 3 seaters (72,000), 4 seaters (60-66k), and dorms(51,000). The students securing more than 93% in their 10+2 can get 100% exemption from tuition fees, students with 88% or more can get 50% exemption and students with 80% or plus can get 25% exemption from their tuition fees.
Campus Life
RGU has many fests throughout the year but one of the most important fest is Consensio. Unfortunately because of the pandemic, it was not possible to conduct the fest in 2020 and 2021. The libraries of RGU is very neat and well segregated based of the subjects. The classrooms are always clean but the projectors often cause some problems. The ACs work during the peak summer season. The sports facility is very good in RGU. There are two basketball courts, one volleyball court, a big football field and indoor badminton, squash courts. RGU also has two places to play pool. RGU is segregated into schools such as Royal School of Commerce, Royal School of Architecture, etc. Every school has its Individual clubs. I am a core council member of the Royal Commerce Club so there are many fun events happening every now and then.
