Life at RGU

I haven't applied for any other college as it is the best private college in the state. The minimum requirement was securing a minimum of 50% in the Class XII examination and to clear the interview conducted by the University. Since there was a delay in the declaration of board results last year (so it wasn't taken into much consideration) , the admission procedure included an online interview amidst the pandemic situation. We had a 14-days orientation program post admissions, which briefed us about the university and the course selected.

I chose the particular course due to my interest in accountancy. The faculty: student ratio stands at 1:5. The faculty is highly qualified and I love their teaching methodologies. They are always ready to help us out. Providing valuable notes, clearing doubts, making learning effective and interesting through various ways is their ideology always. In a semester, total of two exams is conducted. The difficulty level depends on the preparation of a student.

As a private educational institution, the fee structure is quite appropriate. They claimed to provide the scholarship but the students didn't get one even after being eligible. The university decides to provide financial assistance to the students whose parents or guardian has died due to covid.

Many events every now and then are being conducted. Concensio is one of the main events of the university which drives the whole city crazy. Unfortunately, due to the global health situation we are in, the event which is generally held in the month of February couldn't be conducted for the last two years. Despite this, online events are organized for all the departments to keep the students as well as the faculty engaged in some joyous activities. The university has 2 libraries filled with numerous books, novels, magazines, etc. Various sports like cricket, volleyball, badminton, pool, table tennis, squash, etc can be played as per the interest. Proper playing areas and equipment are being provided. Sports events are conducted timely to encourage students and teachers. Royal School of Commerce is a club for the Commerce Department which is run by the students with coordinators. The departmental club engages students in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.

An online interview with 2-3 professors was scheduled considering the pandemic situation. It was focused on questions related to general knowledge and class XII th syllabus. I revised the syllabus
