B. TECH, Chemical engineering, PARUL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, VADODARA REVIEW

I applied for the college named Parul Institute of Technology, Vadodara and I was selected through my GUJCET score i.e.38.75 as such my score was good enough for me to get selected in the chemical engineering branch. The admission criteria were simple as I have to just get admission through ACPC I have to get a token amount of 20,000 through the bank. Then I went to college and submitted my result and ACPC number and then just pay the fees i.e. 37,000 per semester and 74,000 per year and a college deposit of 15,000. There was no such counselling conducted, instead, there was an orientation program on the very first day itself i.e. 24-07-2018.

I choose this course because I have an interest in chemicals, as we deal with them in our day-to-day life. The faculty to student ratio is 1:60.The qualified faculties with assistant professor having M.tech degrees and HODs having the P.hd degree. The teaching method is good enough for the student to get vast knowledge of the subject in both technical and practical way. The exams were conducted regularly as the end-semester exams (60marks) were conducted and before that weekly (20 marks) and mid-semester(40 marks) were conducted. The exam level was medium to hard as such the average student who can give 3-4 hours of daily study can also pass the exam.

From the seventh semester, itself student become eligible for placements. Companies like Byju's comes for placements and offer placement worth 10 LPA. Torricid offers 3.5 LPA. The highest package offered was 18 LPA Average packs are around 2.5 to 3.5 LPA. My plan after getting the degree is to get placement through on campus placement offers.

The fees of the year are around 74,000 and the fees are not merely hike as such the college issue a notice or circular for any information regarding this. The hostel fees if anyone is willing to stay at campus hostel premises the fees is around 71,000 per year. The deposit is 5,000 is to be made at the starting of 1st year. The college deposit of 15,000 is to be made. These are refundable after the 4 years course gets over. Scholarships like TFWS( tuition fees waiver scheme) for the student who has above average score in gujcet exam. The whole 74,000 fees per year get reduced to only 13,500 per year under this scheme.

Dhoom is the annual fest which is conducted in February. Projections- Gujarat's largest technical fest and VADODARA startup fest in March. Availability of books & journals in the library is at par enough for the student to get the desired book in the library easily. All classes are smart classroom equipped with projectors. All sports facilities are provided on the campus itself includes badminton, cricket, lawn tennis, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, swimming pool, gymnasium and many more. Retro clubs are one of the clubs and many more clubs are present that are run by the student.

In-house hostel facility is best. As the students get their own study table, chair and cupboard and are provided with a kit that consists of the pillow, towel, mug, bucket, toothbrush, blanket, and many more things. The mess is quite good as it consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a very easy process for hostel registration and quite affordable too. The hostel fees are 71,000 rupees per year including the mess facility. The rooms are both Ac and Non ac as well as both common and attached bathroom options available for the students to decide among these available options.
